Your favourite family and ours, The Dingles, will star in the first ever feature-length Emmerdale made for DVD.

Two parallel worlds collide in the one-off special: Dingles For Richer For Poorer, featuring Zak, Lisa, Sam, Belle, Samson, Cain, Marlon, Chas, Charity and Noah. Jimmy and Nicola King will also appear.

And here's the story... The Dingles are feeling the pinch, resorting to eating scraps and selling old bric-a-brac to make ends meet. Clutching at straws, Zak and Belle go to buy a Eurobillions rollover week ticket.

As Zak and Belle head off, we enter two parallel universes and the fun enfolds as fate serves up very different futures from their lucky numbers.

Will it be the reality of winning the lottery that brings delight, or will the harsher reality of lies and bogus tickets leave the clan counting the cost of nearly winning a fortune?

The havoc unfolds with hilarious results as the film asks the question: ‘How much would winning the lottery change you?’

Dingles For Richer For Poorer will be available on DVD and to download from the 15th November.

HUGE January storyline...

Tragedy strikes in the Dales this January when a raging inferno rips through the village, leaving a trail of destruction and heartbreak in its wake which not everyone will survive.

Terrified locals watch in horror as the ferocious fire engulfs a row of cottages in the heart of the village and threatens the lives of some of the show’s best-loved characters.

The shock blaze will see at least two villagers perish, but viewers will be kept waiting until the explosive episode airs to find out who makes it out alive.

Betty (Paula Tilbrook) is left fighting for her life when the fire spreads to Keepers Cottage, but will she survive the fumes? As Victoria Cottage catches light, house-mates Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) are left in peril, could they meet their fate in the flames? Or will Katie (Sammy Winward) be doomed after arguing with her angry ex Andy who has a history of arson.

Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) and Terry (Billy Hartman) could be in danger when their home is caught up in the inferno. While Viv (Deena Payne) is alone in the flat drowning her sorrows after Terry has rejected her advances. Will she get out before it’s too late and the building is consumed by the blaze?

Lives will be lost and families will be destroyed in some of the show’s most spectacular scenes ever. As the villagers mourn the loss of their neighbours they’re horrified to learn that this was no accident. How long can the arsonist hide their guilt before their web of lies spirals out of control?

Series Producer Gavin Blyth said: “This is going to be one of the most dramatic and tragic events ever to rock Emmerdale and no-one will be untouched by the fire’s devastating consequences. The whole village will be thrown together for these gripping and heart-wrenching episodes which will launch us into an unmissable 2011.”

The explosive episodes will air in mid-January 2011.
