I noticed he wasn't on screen, but what was his illness?
I was quite shocked to hear about that too, hard to imagine the show without him.
AIUI, his relatives do not wish to disclose details of his illness, only that it was condition he'd been battling for a while. Awful news all the same.
Does this mean Annie, Amos and Joe will come back for his funeral?
Amos can't as the actor Ronald Magill died sometime ago. Joe died on-screen in 1994. It would be nice for Annie to return but I doubt she will. Also, Sheila Mercier is nearly 90 now.
OMG!! Did i miss Amos's Obit thread.?Hangs my head in shame.
So Annie is still kicking in her 90's. See the Spanish sun and lifestyle is good for ya. .
Seriously though i'd love to see her make a special appearance.

Joe died in a storyline and Jack actually went to his funeral - but we never saw his death and we all know its happened in the past - Bobby Ewing and Harold Bishop style - Joe could come back! (is Frazer Hines still acting???)
I find it odd that the family are declining to state the cause of death, of course they would want privacy at such a time - but it does make one wonder if they feel in any other way obliged to do so....
Moving on from the obviously sad news, I do wonder what will happen to Jack on screen.
He's meant to be in Spain at the moment, but some sort of new story would need to be developed, or an announcement that he'd died
I was looking forward to that episode where he found out about Andy and his temper towards Jo, obviously won't happen now. Maybe Robert could come back for a few episodes?
