LONDON (Reuters) - An official announcer for London's Tube system has been sacked after making spoof messages mocking American tourists, peeping Toms and sweaty commuters. - Full Article

An intresting, and amusing read. Seems she's been fired from the job simply because she had some cheesy mick takes on her personal site. The way it reads at first make it seem that the spoofs actually made it to air.. well.. tube.

I'm not sure I agree with this though, its obviously just a bit of fun, and is even in the "fun stuff" bit on her site. What do you guys think, should she of been fired just for having a sense of humor?

*I take no responsibility if you take offense.

WHAT HAS THIS GOT TO DO WITH POLITICAL CORECTNESS?

FFS Simon, change the F'ing record.

Oh dear. Why was she sacked exactly? For having a laugh. On her personal website.

So if she's being sacked, does that mean we won't be hearing that joyful tone (not) every morning as we're packed like sardines? I always thought it was just a one off voiceover which plays the same every single day. Hardly a rolling contract surely? Razz

LMAO!

She poked fun at Americans, can't have that, might be deemed racist

It is automatic, activated by trains entering the platform. I assume they just don't want to be associated with her any more, hence her departure.

I can't help thinking this is all a stunt - just like all those "radio presenter suspended" stunts local stations like to pull.

You're an idiot.

When you are employed to be the voice or face of a company there is generally a clause in the contract indicating you are not at liberty to bring that company into disrepute.

Its a standard clause in a contract.

The stuff you hear is played automatically and she's obviously got/had a contract with them to provide any extra/updated material etc, which she has done for the last 8 years, until now. Sad
