They are partnering with Facebook to screen at least one La Liga or Serie A game for free each week. My previous attempts to view sporting events that have been streamed on Facebook haven’t worked out so well, so hopefully they have the infrastructure to back it up:

Eleven Sports 1 & 2 have been granted cable/satellite broadcast licences by Ofcom. Though still no word on whether they've got a platform or an EPG slot.

The Android Mobile App is now available whereas the Apple version still hasn't appeared on the Apple Store.

Ah, who hasn't accidentally put colour bars on air at least once...

It’s not the U.K. version of Eleven Sports 2 he’s watching in any event - seemingly that won’t be along till later.

Just (from 1:30pm today) Eleven Sports 1 and La Liga TV for now.

From reports from the Twitterati, the launch has not gone well so far. Let’s hope it improves before people get home from work...

Meanwhile, they’ve picked up rights to six ladies golf tournaments:

I "know" some of these websites

They often play pan-European and beyond versions of channels (or even local ones) instead of British ones, in spite of the labelling

Live coverage kicked off (with a decent two minutes of promos for football.) Commentator is Domnik Hoyler with reporters Anna Whitely and Seb Carmichael Brown. Presentation is slightly reminiscent of ESPN UK, if only for the decent doses of red.

Incidentally I’m not sure how accurate Facebooks “eye” indicator is but it would appear they’ve started off, on that platform at least, with less than 3,000 viewers.
