More OFF NOW than ON NOW then. Does the blackout prevent pre-recorded football as well?

Apparently so - its “any transmission of football” (subject to the other exemptions contained in the Regulations).

BT sometimes show cutdowns of the morning's A-League matches across the blackout period - but I know in the days of them having the lunchtime Premier League game, would make sure they didn't show any match footage beyond 1445.

The A League repeats are not subject to the same restriction as it's not a UEFA sanctioned competition.

Sky have the rights to that now, and their coverage goes on until 3.15. And they certainly show match footage in the last half hour.

I wonder if that's a rights thing rather than a blackout thing then - in the same way that they'll show non-matchplay pictures from inside the grounds.

Android TV app now too:

If it were me, I wouldn't rush out and buy a new telly especially - at this rate they won't have any rights left by the time you got it home.

Just downloaded it to my Sony, decent enough quality for the free replay content. Might buy a month towards the end of the season for a trial, if they get there.

EDIT ...

Just watching a Daley Blind documentary, picture quality is excellent on Android TV. It's a huge annoyance that this wasn't available from launch. I really think that with TV apps from the start their woes wouldn't have occurred and they'd be in a growth phase rather than their medium to long term future being in doubt,

Apparently not:

Well all broadcasters actually show "up to 10" La Liga games per week.
