Hmm, not very sure I like any of the sets from the networks.
The BBC's is traditionally too large and too dark
ITN's is traditionally too colourful and looks like something from the 70's with that orange colour
and Sky's is traditionally virtual.
The desk on the BBC is really horrible IMO, it just looks very out of place.
From the pictures there ITN's looks like it is from the 70's and I am not too keen on the idea of this rather massive set.
From the pictures I have seen from Sky, the virtual reality set looks ok but virtual reality things that are designed to be on tv, put into a picture designed for a computer always looks a bit rough, for example the pictures of Sky News Active looked crap then once they had put it on telly it didn't look too bad.
VR sets are awkward things and I am not sure it will work out on the day.
However, they have had plenty of experience with Vr studios at Sky so it should be ok.
Will be interesting either way.
But first impressions from all networks, well... let's say i'm not jumping for joy.
As for technical magic then last time the place to look was obviously Sky, as they were in this virtual landscape.
ITV might have promising things but then again it is hard to tell with ITV, they promised a lot last time but never delivered.
As for the Beeb, they seem to have the least amount of wonders to marvel at, no proper virtual studio - just big plasma screens.
Last time more people watched ITN's coverage of the election than either of the other two, whether this occurs a second time around remains to be seen.
CNN are also offering some sort of programme, bound to be crap though.
And to be honest, A) I would not trust ANY American network in reporting any accurate British news and B) I would not trust any American network with an election.
