I've just been watching Dragon's Eye here on BBC 1 Wales, and at the end of the show the presenter said he and Huw Edwards would be back on BBC 1 next Thursday with an election special.

I hope this doesn't mean that Wales will miss out on David Dimbleby, Paxman and Snow.

Bumblebee, Paxman and Snow are on BBC Two Wales from about midnight onwards with the BBC One England version of the programme.

A similar system will work in Scotland with their own programme on One and London's on Two.

I think it's EXCELLENT news, as I can watch 942 on Sky to see Huw instead of the DREADFUL Bumblebee.

WHAT!? This is a terrible Idea - I now HATE the BBC - B*stards! They normally shove it on BBC2 where no one wants to watch it. I'm not at all happy now Evil or Very Mad

Bloody hell, it's only television. How hard can it be to press 2 instead of 1? And if you want to watch the Dimbleby programme before midnight it'll be simulcast on News 24 too.

Why must a news channel on to watch a National Event - BBC 1 should have it on from London. And the programme starts at 9.55 - BBC 2 doesn't start showing it for ages - we have the 'classics' like dead ringers to put up with.
I enjoy Election night and always have done - this has just runed it.
What next - Covarage of The popes death - from a welsh angle!

I believe Wales Today covered 'Welsh catholics' more than enough.

I remember the day the Queen Mother died when I happend to be at BBC Wales. When all the BBC Wales bigwigs started arriving outside, I asked why. I was told that the 'Welsh angle' would need to be covered, and that they would assign Nick Pallet down to Porthcawl beach where one of the Queen mothers turds washed up there in 1972, and would have interviews with locals who will fondly recall the event. I think he was joking Wink

Oh and as for BBC Wales ruining your election night, then that's bollocks really. I assume you're Welsh with a name like 'cymru148' (148 is obviously not your IQ), you're Welsh and would want a Welsh angle on the political unfoldings?

If you have Sky, then you can easily flick between BBC One England and BBC One Wales! Jeeeeez.

Well I would imagine it has a lot to do with the idea that Huw Edwards is now attached to it -- last time, it was only David Cornock with David Williams iirc. Not to mention the changes Wales will no doubt see this time [which in fairness network will largely ignore].

Mind you I remember that the 2001 programme was the first of its kind [in English] from BBC Wales, so it's not exactly a tradition set in stone.

Also it doesn't get interesting until after midnight anyway, but yes it is bizarre not to show the first two hours.

You're still over-reacting though.
