I'm just asking if anyone with any inside knowledge know's yet if the BBC will do though the night coverage of the May 3rd elections? They did last year so Im hoping they will again.

The BBC cover every election night, especially this one considering this round of elections are the biggest for a few years with district, unitary and metropolitan councils in England up for election, not to mention the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly elections (BBC Scotland and BBC Wales will almost certainly have dedicated local coverage seperate from Dimbleby and Co. on Network)

Yeah but I mean Dimbleby & crew will do the norm right? There will be England coverage too? My council is in this round and that is very important to me.

It’s going to be a important night this, (not showing any political alliance out loud) Wink No seriously elections are my sport their exicting & interesting to me

Yes, we are voting for our local council & councilers. It has nothing to do with with members of paraliment but It does however provide a glimpse of the mood of the country and 'can' predict the direction of the next general election (they have done in the past)

Ah thanks for that BewitchedFan. Not sure about my town, as i havent heard anything. I'm 19 now so eligable to vote, although i will vote in general election. The last general election i really enjoyed, its the first time i had stayed up to watch most of it.

I'm standing for election in May, so would be quite interested to know if the BBC will be providing coverage.

Because the polls are now open until 10pm (like a general election), most councils will not be counting and declaring until Friday. (We start at 10am).

Unlike a general election, councils just don't get the money to be able to pay people to count until the small hours.

So if the BBC are providing all night coverage - it will probably be for only a small number of seats.

I'm standing for the Conservatives.

Do you think you will do well?
