I don't see Eggheads being on C5 for the long term...i.e. another 10 years. It feels like its on its last legs anyway. As soon as the novelty wears off of it being on C5, and the ratings drop, in true C5 style it will be axed.

Look how C5 treated Blind Date, big deal at first, novelty wore off, axed and disappeared without a trace, no more repeats on 5Star/Select or anything.
What about that GameNight with Liza Tarbuck (or whatever its called)...moved about the schedule, disappearing from the schedule out of the blue?

I think C5 would have more success bringing back sometime like Weakest Link. It appears Australia Channel Nine are bringing it back, so I can defo feel a UK revival of Weakest Link has gotta be sooner or later.

Maybe BBC Two ditching Eggheads could be making way for Weakest Link on Two again?

Game Night with Liza Tarbuck ended up with a second series on Comedy Central oddly, at the end of last year

Eggheads has made way for House of Games already essentially, if Weakest Link comes back it probably won't be at 6pm on Two

Wouldn't be the first time Channel 5 has seen a programme on a slow decline and thought, 'that would be perfect for us'.

Big Brother, Going for Gold, arguably Neighbouras and Home and Away.

The weirdest revival remains "win your wishlist".

Although a revival in the strictest sense of the word, I wouldn’t even regard it as such. I think it was commissioned on 5 liking the format on paper rather than any attempt to gain interest in any nostalgia value. Almost the same as picking up an international format. There were also a few alterations of the format too, with the main difference being the format no longer being purely quizzed based.

Maybe it's time Channel 5 revived one of their own old gameshows?

And that Gino's Win Your Wishlist is another example of C5 bring back something, then it disappears without a trace. I'm sure this was also treated badly in the schedule by C5, moved all over the shop.

If Eggheads does get the 6pm slot, I think H&A will move to 4pm/4:30pm. Neighbours is safe at 5:30pm and does just fine for 5.

Well I think Neighbours and Home & Away would have been safe in their respected slots if Channel 5 hadn’t come calling. They’ve also evidentially been quite successful enough for Channel 5 as they’re both still on air. Going for Gold was hardly in decline, it hadn’t been on for over a decade! Can’t argue with Big Brother though, it did its job for the group at the time though.

100% was an infinitely better programme than bloody Eggheads.

Game shows used to be quite a regular fixture at 7pm for C5 - Topranko, 19 Keys and others I'm sure during the 00s when I think the news was at 7.30pm.

Whoops. Looks like that tweet was deleted because they incorrectly linked to Jeremy Vine's account.

Pinching shows from other channels just gives the impression that they have no ideas of their own. Never understood why it’s a strategy they pursue when it never seems to work out.
Brekkie and London Lite gave kudos

Going for Gold was a revival, there was a 12 year gap between the BBC and Channel 5 versions.

I don't think this is too surprising a move - Jeremy Vine is becoming a bit of a Channel 5 face with his show in the morning, and (presumably) will plug Eggheads during that show as he always used to do on Radio 2.

Don't forget One to Win, which was a slimmed down version of Going For Gold:
