Does anyone know what the announcement was? By the sound of it all it warranted would be a "that was recorded before the recent death of Alexander McQueen" sort-of-thing, rather than an apology.
David
Yes, it was something along those lines on network. There was no apology just an explanation stating that the programme was recorded before the death of Alexander McQueen (I think they said 'tragic death' or 'sad death' IIRC), the OP really has been reading the Daily Mail for too long.
It was the last question in the programme. I did wonder if the
CA or a director was watching the end of the show and made the announcement off their own bat, the question was probably a couple of minutes from the end so they may have had time to get whatever permission they would need to do this. Maybe the programme notes do mention all questions or at least all subject matters mentioned in the show. I'd like to see programme notes on something like Eggheads if that is the case. What did the nations do BTW?
While we have an active Eggheads thread, does anyone know when the winner of the second series of 'Are you an Egghead?' will appear as one of the Eggheads? When Barry Egghead won the first series, he was on the episode that followed the final. I know this series got messed around a bit. The BBC were showing an old series and stopped mid way through to show the new series but then went back to finish the old series again before resuming the new series so the timings are going to be slightly to cock but 'Are you an Egghead?' finished around November, I think, so I would have thought he should be on by now.
