Some less savvy BBC staffer did a quick Google search rather than go through official channels to find the correct logo. Seen this happen so many times.
Surely it would be quicker to go to somewhere on an Intranet where it has a link to some "high resolution BBC logos" or whatever for such this purpose?
You shouldn't have to Google one of your own channel's logos, should you?!
Or am I missing something?
You should in theory, but some literally can't be arsed or don't know where to start to obtain the correct logo.

Nothing surprises me anymore, to be honest with the state of the branding of the BBC, I'm half expecting a lot of the time any old logo to turn up somewhere, anywhere on anything. It may be official, it may have come off the BBC Intranet, it may have come from the TV Forum gallery. Heck, long as it says "BBC Four", it'll probably do.

Your missing that it's to the same scale as the other channel logos, which the proper BBC Four one wouldn't be. If anything the one that stands out a mile is the one for BBC Alba
Yes there is a page on the BBC Intranet that has high res logos of the TV and radio networks.
Speaking of BBC4......they're now showing The Joy of Painting every night - and as a result the official uploads of the show are now geoblocked on YouTube. Pretty annoying that...!
I assume that's been shown in the UK before? There was an early episode of Peep Show where it featured heavily, but I had no idea what it was.
It was only when Bob Ross died and tributes to him were all over the Internet that it started to make a bit of sense
It was on one of the cable/satellite channels every day, probably either Discovery or TLC. I definitely remember it being a minor cult sensation probably around the mid-late 90s, but like a lot of things around that era, I'm struggling to remember how I knew about it before I was on the internet.
If it was on the original TLC then it must have been on that channel for virtually its entire life, as it was certainly a staple of the channel when it was renamed Discovery Home & Leisure and subsequently Real Time. It was the last programme shown on Real Time before it was replaced with the new TLC.
As Steve says, the Vice channel have been showing it recently on weekend afternoons, but I see they're now showing it weekday evenings too. I don't know if this is its first appearance on UK TV since Real Time closed?
Vice have been showing it with the video look removed (filmic/25p/30p?), BBC Four's copy last night seemed to be more fluid but it still looked jerky. Looking at the credits it seems that every fifth frame was skipped. I don't know if this is a way of avoiding the usual speed-up but it didn't look nice.
Looks like there's no subtitles for any of the content (at least on Freeview), despite it saying so in the programme description.
Subtitles aren't available for Red Button content because the Red Button and subtitles can't be displayed simultaneously. Maybe they're advertising subtitles because they're available on iPlayer?
If the red button is used solely to retune then there can be subtitles
But as Red Button video is NOT a channel .... a VERY IMPORTANT POINT
it does not have subtitling or AD kit is its very simple playout path.
And thus none of them included in SI ..
So it's a bit of a job to add them ...
And although subtitles in MHEG 5 have been demonstrated it is a lot of code
to take the exiting EBU 3264 or Newfor subtitles and render them in MHEG5
As we know theBBC does not have (m)any MHEG5 coding folk
And neither does anyone else ......
Nice promo for Bitesize Daily saying "The world may be on hold, but your child's education doesn't have to be." with an orange Bringing Us Closer sting.
