Yes, I remember hearing that. The contestant in question was involved in an (unrelated) court case or criminal matter and couldn’t be shown for legal reasons. They edited out his questions - and I believe he was eliminated after round one which made this easier. I’m not sure if he still appeared in long shots though.
If I remember correctly, there was one shot where during round one - after he'd been eliminated, so he wasn't lit, but they painted a deeper shadow over him so he wasn't identifiable.

When i google searched this, i found this article about the edit. Its claiming the person who was edited out was done so because of health reasons: https://deadline.com/2020/11/bbc-forced-to-edit-out-masterchef-contestant-1234621727/
I can’t verify the validity of this, but it came up quite early in search results.

Deadline is normally a reliable source, and well informed.

Probably shouldn't speculate further about whether they swore or have a health-issue, none of our business

Absolutely. The simple explanations are usually the ones that prove truest. And going back to the editing techniques, I’m pretty sure they’ll have chosen to tighten the edit and crop a few shots rather than CGI or re-artwork moving video frame by frame, which would be very costly and labour intensive.

If that were the reason why (and it's not) they can just ignore it, not show the outburst, and just put the other two contestants through. Nice Twitter rumour though.
The episode was well done, had a lot more chat and inane questions from Greg than usual to make up the time! A few references to multiple contestants during the skills test that only one person did, they could have done some ADR if they were really fussy.
I would assume if the chef had told Monica, Gregg and Marcus to Go F themselves, they would have either edited them out during post production or kept him in to show their behaviour.
