UK Gold will be showing a whole weekend of classic EastEnders episodes starting Saturday 20th December. I can't remember the exact times, but I think on each day the episodes start at 9am and end at 7pm on both days. I can't wait.
It's an EE Xmas weekend BTW. It will be the third special weekend they've done. I think UK Gold have had a lot of demand to show older eps, and it's easier to show them like this than it is to jump back in the middle of the run.
Is there a specific theme for this weekend or just classic EE episodes?
I hope it's concentrating more on the pre-Mitchell, pre-Slater eras myself
By the way, did anyone notice that during the recent Dirty Den weekend, the original credits appeared on all the editions, none of the "replacing the end credits with the titles" as UK Gold used to do?
BTW, the 2nd epsiode they showed had the BBC's odd 1995 re-edit credits. On the first weekend they did show some epsiodes with UK Gold cut-credits, but only on 3 eps from 1990, 93 & 95 (were they really still using them by the time UK Gold were at 1995?). All other eps (including ones from the 80s) had proper credits. I presume UK Gold get rid of so many of their credit-editied epsiodes as they had no point in keeping them.
