Eastenders & Vicki Fowlers' new accent - Small Spoiler

Well I was gobsmacked last night, when Vicki Fowler returned from America and her accent has changed....

She said it was to make her sound more british, but I think it was more to do with the amount of complaints the Beeb had over the original one...

Anyone else notice this?

It is odd. Vicki was meant to have been in America. If that was the case, there's not a chance she would sound more British.

Didn't they say that she had gone on a tour of Europe with Sharon??

I'm amazed that they have asked her to do this and have implemented it with such a weak explaination.

What the hell is the point? I don't like the way Dan Ferriera speaks, lets make him a bit more scottish please.

Did they not do the same with Donna in Emmerdale? She used to have a bit of esturary english going on, but then she suddenly miss South Yorkshire

It's not entirely clear whether you know this or not, but you do know she is British right? The actress who plays Vicki has a perfect english accent.

Well i definitely know she is a British Actor. I saw the BBC Three Revealed with her in it

It doesnt sound very different to me. Maybe you caught her on a bad accent day.

Couldn't find a thread remotely related so this will have to do. Just how much are BBC announcers getting paid?! Before tonight's EastEnders we had these (two) wise words uttered: "BBC ONE"

I heard her earlier this week and her accent sounded completely English to me whereas before it was completely American.
