Even if they did bring back Mickey, there would be big audience confusion with Mickey and Mick Carter...

Spare me the Bull ****. People aren't that stupid.

Micky was panned by the Critics and was blamed as one of the reason why eastenders was poor during the mid 00's

Nobody ever confused Bet Lynch and Betty Turpin in Corrie! And Eastenders did have Billie Jackson and Billy Mitchell not so long ago.

It always sounds like such a crash into the credit music to me.

It used to be done a bit more subtly http://youtu.be/KrN7buQLLw4?t=2m41s

Would it be sacriledge if I were to say I quite like how it goes straight into the main tune?

A clean version of Julia's Theme, plus "crash-in" can be found here:

Didn't the credits used to continue in the style of Julia's Theme?

The only occasion I can think of is when Peggy left.

Is the version of Julia's Theme used these days the same as Peggy's Theme?

The full theme running right through the credits is rarely if ever used any more. Although I think when they have special end credits like when Stacey left on the plane and we had the credits over the shot of night time london would have suited the full Julias Theme perfectly.

On another note, the full Julia's Theme must be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever composed. Its so lovely and suits both sad and happy endings. I could listen to it all day.

Not as far as I can remember. It's just that they use a slightly different arrangement now which doesn't flow into the main theme as well. Here's the first episode it was used in: http://youtu.be/Xsjh6sqmju8?t=27m40s
