The titles were last updated in 1999/2000 to include the Millennium Dome which can be seen from space.
I'd imagine it wouldn't be very well received by the viewers if the titles were changed - they're somewhat of an institution now, even though they are boring and crap (a bit like the show really)

Yes I think they tried changing the theme tune at one point to some really bad jazz type noise *1992*
But I still think the ident now should change, even Coronation Street has a better ident.

to be honest, im really suprised that piece of rubbish survived that long. like i never heard of someone who was shot, missing for 14 years and who came back without scratch then! like my god, that is the thickest storyline ever. like how many times has Den died by now!!

like if somebody was shot don't you think the wound would have healed after 14 years, or like, maybe it's in a place we wouldn't like to see. like my god, anyway this forum is about the opening titles not the storylines. like, if you must know, Den never actually died, but apparently died once. like...
I agree some of the plots are far-fetched, I mean how often does a girl who fancies someone lie about having a baby to keep him, and ends up sleeping with his dad in order to continue the lie...?
But it is escapism, and i'm looking forward to the death of Den (he only has one tone of voice ), although it will be sad to see Andy go, as although most people don't agree, I do think he is a good actor and has made his character really hateable.
To now change the subject I personally cannot wait for Friday's episode. The build up has been quite something and despite it being put in many womans magazines I'm reading none of it. I really can't wait.
