What original things can they do though? Most soaps have had similar storylines to each other in the past, it will be a success if the writing is good, along with the passion put in by the actors.

My understanding is that Ian and Jane do end up staying together, dispite what's going to happen. Although we shall have to wait and see.

The writing is 100% crap hence why Wendy Richard decided to leave - I don't blame her. Adam Woodyatt should go soon if he's any sense.

EastEnders is dead.

Because the internet is something called ''democratic'' and this thread would be boring if everybody held the same desperate reverance for the soap...?

Perhaps for the same reason I do - I was once a huge fan. Never missed an episode. It was the epitome of good television drama for years.

The last few years has seen it degenerate into formulaic drivel written by monkeys with typewriters.

It's ghastly television now, and a constant disappointment to those of us who were avid fans from the start.

No wonder tried and tested actors like Wendy Richard are quitting.

Oh and I honestly don't understand why you keep coming back to TV Forum: Nobody likes you here, you're TV Forum's mule: useless and to be honest you never put any input into discussion except admonishing people because the internet makes you feel powerful.

I'm not sure if it was on here or somewhere else, but do you think that many of us that complain are let down because we seem to know every little detail well in advance, and therefore have a sence of what we expect?

Personally, and i stress personally - i have been enjoying EastEnders of the past couple of weeks.

Oh so have I Sean, so have I. But it's what's coming that I am terrified of.

I know the whole Dawn/Rob storyline is not that popular, but me and my mum have really enjoyed and looks set to get better (see spoiler some posts back), with May and Rob moving in the Square in December.

That's all well and good, but when you're doing it with the same character then it's time to worry. I mean, Ian and Laura anybody?
