For pity sake, they can't even get a proper exit storyline right now. 21 years of Pauline Fowler rubbished with an ending like that. Mad

You actually rate Pauline's funeral storyline that highly? But of course, you rate everything in EE that highly!

I'm criticising what I read. If the storyline turns out to be good then I'll take what I said back. But The Sun obviously got that from the horses mouth so I'm not very hopeful.

As far as soap "exits" go, and in relation to EE in particular, there can't be anything that could ever top the sad exit of Ethel Skinner, IMO.

Although - and way off topic - my favourite ever soap exits were:

1) Hilda on Corrie;
2) Bronwen and Henry in Neighbours (not many people remember that one, but well played by Craig MacLachlan and whoever the actress was). It was a real tearjerker and an airport scene.

Won't miss Pauline much. The character has gone downhill in the last couple of years.

Just watching Parkinson - Wendy Richard has got it right that Pauline should never have remarried. Totally destroyed the structure.

Also, http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds39563.html - how petty! More her son's fault not hers.

I agree, what the hell was the point in her marrying Joe? They're rarely seen together now, they have no relationship. Seriously, what was the point?

Looks like the ratings may pick up this week what with
Ruby leaving and the burning of the witch (Pauline) on Friday
and there's
Ian's non-wedding to look forward to, complete with mud fight - kinky!

Again EE have spoilt a potentially nice storyline. It's so petty that they have to make Ian Woodyatt play the loser, who is obviously going to ditch Jane at the alter. It's ridiculously predictable and boring.
