Great episode lastnight i love the way Eastenders have let us believe Jake has "Died" ,But really the doors still left open for him to return Smile Jake was under used way to much for my liking such a good actor when asked of.

I loved Pat flirting with Aubrey, This woman is EastEnders to me, Pam St Clements is a legend and its about time she won an outstanding achievement award.

I have a feeling EastEnders will win "Best Soap" again at the nta which is good news.

I dont think EE should win Best Soap at the NTA's. I believe that Hollyoaks should win this, hated by some i know but Hollyoaks is really under rated.

As for EE, it seems to be doing ok at the moment. Is that the gangsta period of EE over now? I want more juicy, contraversial storylines.

The title is 'Most Popular Soap' actually, which is nothing like 'Best'. Rolling Eyes

Make sure you put that in the sub-title when EastEnders inevitably win it. I know you'll be editing the title accordingly, so make sure you put the correct name.

And anyway, if it was the Most Popular, it would be getting more than Coronation Street, which is quite literally trouncing it in the ratings at the moment.

Ratings doesn't count for everyone watching tv though does it? I know that sounds like sour grapes but aslong as EastEnders keep up the good storylines i'm not fussed.

Erm, yes? I'm puzzled by that comment actually.

Personally, I feel they need to start the good storylines. I mean, it's enjoyable enough, but some of the plots are so ridiculous.

EastEnders will win because it generally has more younger viewers who are willing to vote via the internet for these type of awards. It's still not a true representation of what the 'Most Popular' soap actually is.

Maybe i've got this totally wrong so correct me if i have but...I'm pretty certain the rating only count for people who have a "Barb box" or whatever its called? So how does that count for every viewer? its really only a guess,Right?

You're right, it is a sample of the nation. But it's far more complicated than just a guess. It's a very accurate estimate. The sample covers every demographic in the country, inlcuding sex, age, religion, families, people living alone etc. The panel used is fully representative of all television households across the whole of the UK.

To call it a guess is rather insulting.

If it were a guess then are you saying that 30 Million people didn't watch EastEnders in 1986? Accurate estimates like these are often very close to the actual result.

Oh no i wouldn't dismiss that,Nor would i dissmiss the fact that EastEnders was the highest rated show on Chrismas day 2005 the day most people watch tv.

The point i'm trying to make is,I think people have more chance of showing what shows they like with voting shows like Nta and soap magazines as everyone has a chance to vote.Unlike with the ratings.

But If EastEnders topped the ratings week by week like Corrie do and didn't win awards i'd take that aswell.

But ratings is the ultimate form of voting, voting with your feet.

I see the Ruby saga is set to continue. Did I hear she was set to leave?
