Going on what i hear this could be a normal thing depending how Emmerdals ratings fair out over the next 2 weeks

I'm not sure this would make sense for ITV. Yes - Emmerdale 'slaughters' EastEnders when the former has an eventful episode, but when it's just a regular edition, the ratings for Emmerdale go down by a few share points. Putting the shows head-to-head every week would affect ITV's advertisting revenue and could put sponsorship at risk.

It also makes ITV look increasingly desperate and reliant on soaps to shore up its schedule.

Also, the Beeb could just move EastEnders to 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It already occupies that slot on Mondays and Fridays. So it's not as if it's something viewers are not already used to.

I think ITV is stupid to "once again" use one of its soaps to pull in audiences from BBC1. Sticking two normal episodes together will soon bore the pants of its regular viewers. Maybe BBC1 should move Enders to 8pm, I would to love see what ITV then tries to throw at it.

The Bill is very hit and miss too, but would it be strong enough to battle with EastEnders?

Just thought I'd give you my daily ....

"Good 'eaven's, its Pat Evans!" Update:

Last night she offered to boil the kettle and peel the spuds for tea. I can't contain, its too much!

What is that pathetic Ruby character all about?

Why would that new (quite handsome) man in the show be interested in a wobbly jawed midget with "action man eyes" Ruby?

Its so utterly unbeleivable I want to vomit.

I used to think Sean was like Dennis but it is now extremely clear that the two are nothing alike. Dennis was a decent person deep down, but Sean is just messed up- more like Nick Cotton if anything. I must admit that I am enjoying the storyline though and it once again goes to show how much TPTB have wasted the character of Jake. Joel Beckett is a really good actor and its unfortunate that its his leaving storyline that is proving this.

I absolutely loathe the character of Sean. Badly acted and badly written. I'm not sure what they're trying to do with him but it ain't working. And don't get me started on Jake. He couldn't be anymore wooden if he tried. I'm certainly not seeing what you're seeing.

This past week has felt like 2003 all over again, it's been that bad. I hope it improves, because I'm not enjoying it at the moment.

are the Foxes still paying rent on the flat they needlessly vacated in order to squeeze into somebody else's 3-bed terraced house?
What has happened to Deano?
Why does Squiggle wear her school uniform at all times of the day, whatever she's doing?

I don't think the programme's as bad as people like to make out, but I end up with more questions than answers whenever I watch it nowadays.

Generally? No, I admit I've enjoyed it. I was just picking out this past week which has been dire, and a few characters which I really don't like.

What the hell has happened with Ian Beale? Despite the fact he seems to have lost a lot of weight, he's decided to marry Jane knowing full well she slept with Grant - for crying out LOUD!

Agree about Specky and the constant wearing of her uniform - its like she doesn't have a wardrobe.

Tune in later for the "Good 'eavens, its Pat Evans" update... I'm sure we're in for a right corker! Wink

Well to get you started Nok, she had a good nose round the Square today, starting at her house and then over to Jake's. "I just came round to check if you were ok." Please, her character is so pointless now.

Does anybody think the SJ storyline is getting better? I do. I think it's becoming more sinister. Maybe she does actually like Minty and is finding it difficult and is pressured by Sid. Or...the whole stotyling could end in Minty's corruption.

They should just send Pat off with Frank to live in Spain or something. So long as they don't bring Mike Reid back - I mean the whole history of Pat Butcher (nee Harris nee Wicks nee Beale nee Whatever) went completely out the window the minute he came back for those few episodes last time during Janine's trial. So pointless! The scriptwriters are crap anyway and she's obviously got no place in Albert Square anymore. I'd like to know what Pam St Clement feels about the treatment of her character.

No "Good 'eavens, its Pat Evans!" update tonight as Jonathan has already told us the exciting events. If I see the 10pm repeat - which I probably won't - I'll give my comments.
