EastEnders = Does NOT keep consistent, IS noticeable and has to cover up using rushed poorly acted, storylines. Comic elements are useless and boring. The Ferriera family and Louise Berridge destroyed EastEnders. Thats the fact I'm afraid.

The show does have some way to go to get to it's brilliant pre-Berridge best, but the show has steadily improved over the last year. I think Harwood has been responsible for helping the show during a very difficult period when so many big names such as Kat and Alfie left. She's brought in some great characters and has moved the show away from silly gangster storylines and back to family life once again.

Now the show has to consolidate the improvements and continue to improve as a new executive producer starts next month.

Banks, I have REALLY become tired of your dicatorship. This IS NOT YOUR THREAD. STOP QUOTING FROM OTHER SOURCES. Let people have their own opinions and decisions, it's why it is a discussin group, you IDIOT. In fact, if you carry on, I urge other members to simply ignore this cretin.

Banks... no never heard of him!

Adding fuel to the fire I find Claire's "ooh I'm suddenly gone demented" act on Corrie just as wooden as Honey's "oh dear my baby seems to have downs" act on Enders.

Lee, Diane and Tiana were brilliant tonight. And the actress who plays Owen's mum was great too.

The final scenes were chilling - the faraway look Owen had in his eyes as he calmly talked about killing Libby and Denise's screams...

Well done yet again on winning Best Soap

Banks, if something actually really exciting happens on Enders in the next few months will you self -combust?

This storyline is far too drawn out and far too predictable for my liking. Who gives a flying feck if Squiggle lives or dies? I just wish Chelsea was pilled up and ready to meet her maker too.

I hear the actress who plays her won "Best Plank of Wood" 2006, once again congratulations to EastEnders there.... Sigh! Rolling Eyes

The name for one of the latest EastEnders characters...clearly a squiggle is what the casting agent wrote down and the scriptwriters went from there.

It would actually help if you put the name of the awards in the title. Then everybody would be able to see how ridiculous the award is. The Inside Soap Awards awarded EastEnders Best Soap when the show was at its worst, so that tells you how credible they really are. Then again, with a category like 'Best Dressed', I don't think it would take a genius to work that out. Rolling Eyes

That means that TV Quick ,TV Choice,British Soap and the TV Baftas are all ridiculous awards too though? I KNOW EastEnders isn't at its best but it must be doing something right and that says alot about the other soaps

Chelsea is just awful . I feel like I'm back at the RSC when I watch her. This isn't Shakespeare darling. The eye-rolling, folding of arms, exageration of words and phrases, her ridiculously huge mouth when she says anything...Her acting is stage-acting, and not at all suited to a soap. It's theatrical.

I was referring to the year it won, when it was being critically derided in 2003 and 2004. The only award I ever take notice of is the BAFTA because I do think they actually judge fairly, and yes, EastEnders deserved it this year because it had a much stronger year last year than Corrie. However, whether it deserved the Inside Soap award or not is irrelevant, because they have been giving the show Best Soap for the past ten years, even when it was being criticised by everybody!

I think the NTA's are also probably the only other awards I take notice of, although they're not much better.

Not sure if I'm the only one but I found tonight's scene of squiggle being drowned far too distressing for 7.30-8.00PM television... It was disgusting and disturbing.

I agree. If she dies, then that was a very graphic murder for 8pm.
