Midwives have attacked the BBC soap EastEnders for its portrayal of the birth of a baby with Down's syndrome.

This is ridiculous. Every scene with Chelsea, Squibble and Dianne HAS to be something to do with Owen. He was an awful character, it was an awful and painfully dull storyline- why do we want a return of that trash? It's just boring.

You do realise "pantomime" means "an amusing musical play based on traditional children's stories"? That hardly describes Trevor Rolling Eyes

I thought some of the Trevor stuff was absolutely spellbinding. I'm not sure what to make of this Owen person. He's better in the Catherine Tate show.

yes Alex Ferns (Trevor) was a good actor - surprised he hasn't been able to find more TV work.

Panto? Are you serious?

Trevor was quite a frightening character at times. I thought that storyline was very well written. Kacey Ainsworth and Alex Ferns were brilliant.

I like Owen as well, although I have found this storyline a little 'sensational' for my liking.

Please tell me you've not just written that. Oh, looks like you have.

If anything it's the other way around. This Owen character's story of domestic abuse was hap-hazardly handled and was I the only one who thought it was SO rushed.

The investment that went into the characters of Litle Mo and Trevor was outstanding and duely reckognised as drama at its finest, challenging comtemporary issues and not doing it in a compromising fashion.

Alas, I continue to watch this. The story surrounding Janet has the potential to be excellent and so far it's not been too badly handled. The Peggy's love life set up is slightly too, well, predictable for my liking but we'll see how things pan out.

Other than that the scripting team still need a good slapping.

Again, you're an idiot. How do you justify that?

Most of the current EastEnders episodes are considered panto by many and not just me. You really should go back to watching CBBC... Rolling Eyes

... well, there has'nt been anyone in the show that has been a 'bad-boy' for ageeeesssss!!! - they needed something to spruce it up abit, but then it went too far, and i reckon they should have shown a late-nite episode.... the only way that would happen is if you were to watch the 10pm repeat on BBC3, and not watch BBC1..... then it would be shwon after 9pm....
