no surprise really. What with all the Fowlers gone/going, there's nowhere for the character to go anymore.

Well, in the stakes of who picks who in sports day it's unsurprised that Wendy Richards has finally given up the ghost and decided to take the proverbial tube.
So, in true 'Rocky' style, and incidentally isn't there a 6th one of those being made?, anyway, another one bites the dust. And I can hardly blame her. Imagine having to go to work, as a professional actress, with the likes of the characters of 'Bradley', yes the two dimensional, talking puppet or even worse 'Keith'. What does he actually get paid for, other than being a lard arse? Oh yeah, being a lard arse.
I know I've made numerous comments on the quality of script writer but alas the Eastender’s script writers seem not to partake in TV Forum's bastion of opinion, oh no. They also seem to not partake in anything resembling quality writing. This week, as per usual, a tidal wave of foul stories have hit the airwaves. Yet again Lanky Martin and oh so bright car mechanic seem to continue with the relationship act. Get me a bucket. I always think of the restaurant scene from Monty Python's 'The Meaning of Life' when I see the relationship, and quality of acting between the pair. This was all topped, like the waver thin mint by the Sports Day saga and double decker Sonia. I suppose one the redeeming features was however the camera cut away before the beached whale started opening the flood gates. Oh, how I long for the storyline involving Rebecca as the new anti-Christ.
Speaking of anti-Christ let's head across the square to another rollercoaster disaster, Yeap, Bradley's extended family. Apart from the oblivious comments over 'No Angels' star entering a greater comedy than the one she's just left it's back to the appallingly bad script. So, Bradley's Dad's turned up. He's upset. He gets angry. Family reconcile. Could it get more formulaic? Well, the answer seemed to come in the form of Rosie Miller's line. "I can't stand it anymore"
And she apparently couldn't stand it. She's gone. Finito. Final. And like the England captain headed off after falling at post (or the registry office if we're going to be pedantic about these things). Actually, to Eastender's credit this does seem to be one of the storylines I can stand. Well, apart from the annoying 'Chaved' children with the social skills of a small rodent. Rosie Miller has consistently being one of those characters which had not only excelled in her script (the mother and me story to Dot was extremely moving) and the leaving a repressive husband has a lot of resonance, lot least with my own experiences. Anyway, I digress. The quality of 'Rosie's' acting is seconded only to that of Gus. What? What? Yes you heard me right. I actually had to do a double take early this week. Did I really just see Gus? Apparently so. The messiah hath returned my brothers and sisters. Or something like that.
Wendy Richards leaves in the face of a show when she entered on a high. It's had highs and lows; good points and bad but the latest low is purely do the sloppy, sporadic nature of the script writing and to leave now really is a credit to the character, before she becomes the face of another comical characterisation.

This isn't your thread, it isn't my thread, it isn't Banks thread. This topic needs to be looked into by the moderators as time after time, we go off course because of geeky trolls like yourselves. We already know the pair of you have just celebrated the beginning of puberty together, so why don't you go and buy a handmirror and sod off. Part of being interested in a soap is learning to be critical as well, which, as we know, you can't handle and manicly have siezures when somebody writes something negative.
All i did was post what i saw in my own way, i was meerly describing how i was seeing it, it was hard for me to explain. What youve just written there is not contructive - just plain damn disrepectful.
As for Wendy Richards leaving, i guess you could say it was inevitable, just hope she has a good exit storyline.

Yes I totally agree with Wendy Richard's decision to leave. I personally think the soap is beyond repair and she's obviously getting out of the trifle while she can. A big shame for the world of soap, but a she's had no option.
This leave's the character of Ian Beale the only remaining of the original cast from 1985 and how long will it be before he leaves as well? How long before this soap becomes something completely different from its former self?
The scriptwriting and backstage team clearly do not care anymore. Its obviously become an effort to keep the show going and its therefore a strain of embarrassment to watch. EastEnders' time is up it has to be said. I've tried to see many other directions it can take but its all flopped big time.
Chances are Pauline will just leave in Charlie's cab with Julias theme playing. I really hope they give more thought to her leaving storyline than that!

I have to agree, I do think EastEnders is coming to the end of its shelf life. They build it up and then take away the decent writers and let it fall back on its arse again. I hate ALL of the new cast at the moment. The old cast like Peggy, Phil & Pat are under used. We really don't care about Ian any more. And poor old Pauline hasn't had much to do really since Mark died. What's happened to the Truemans? How long is Dot away for?
And why is the square filling up with ugly kids you can't act for toffee?
I really can't see why they can't return to gritty dramatic episodes again.

I hope it's a nice ending, give her a good send off rather than killing her off or something

Kate has said EastEnders will go back to the "Gritty" ways soon,But before it does they have to introduce all the new characters first. As i can see it i think max will be involved in big storylines.

I agree, it's better than killing her off and there being no other members of the family to come to the funeral like Madge in Neighbours.
