EastEnders - General Discussion Thread

You may find that many of those who are commenting have been long standing fans of the show and disappointed about what has happened to it. Why shouldn't they be free to express this opinion if that is their view ?

Maybe they are watching in the vain hope that someday it might just get better.

Long standing fans should stick by it through the good times and the bad, not avoiding it...

Oh stop being nitpicky. Does it matter? Yes I'm a long standing fan and I HAVE to avoid it at times due to the complete cringefest it is.

Agreed,I can understand some of the posts people make in the thread but "accidently" takes the biscuit? How do you "accidently " watch something? fall on top of the remote?

Eastenders may not have that "Gitty" style that people used to love at the moment but it will do sometime soon,Its in a better state then it was,We don't have loads of cast members leaving for one,like lastyear

I have no idea what "gitty" is supposed to mean. "Gritty" perhaps?

I'm not sure you realise that some of us have been watching the show since it launched in 1985. That's 21 years following a programme. Are you even 21 years old?

As such, I'm entitled to say whether I think it is better or worse than it used to be.

The show is all about the every day lives of people in and around a market square. The "gangster" storylines were far-fetched rubbish, so I am glad they were put to rest.

However, at the moment the stories are weak and implausible.

None of us have to explain why we watch to anyone on this board. We don't have to stop commenting just because you don't like or agree with what we say.

If you love the show now then that is great for you. I wish I did.

I can tell you with hand on heart that if you had followed the programme for as many years then you too would be quite disappointed with the way it has turned out.

I'm sure it can get better, but the last two executive producers have failed spectacularly to turn it around in my eyes.

I guess everyones entitled to their own opinions
