Well, I was looking forward to the Grant and Jane story - expecting some real "hard man" Mitchell action.... but no, we've got Grant still putting on the Hugh.. Grant act. Rolling Eyes

I actually switched off last night. Not done that for a while.

The Ben/Mo/Freddy story is just awful, and the Grant/Jane development is utterly implausible.

Oh dear. For me the programme is slipping away in my estimation all over again.

Lets not forget also the fact that Ben is supposedly deaf. Now, I don't know how deaf he's supposed to be but surely his speech should be impaired slightly.

Maybe, but I'm guessing his part in Eastenders is down to pushy parents or a contact in the business. I'm not suggesting his performance is down to his disability in the soap or perhaps real life, but the acting is wooden and I think EE should be ashamed of themselves. The soap needs to be careful not to go back to its old ways (FERREIRAS Etc...). The Grant and Jane storyline was okay for a couple of episodes but we know what's going to happen now thankyou...I also really hope Naiomi and Sonia don't split up, I think they're great together and act well. Maybe just stay together until Sonia leaves the soap. Finally, I think Oliver has been poor this week. He may be attractive, but too dull for my liking, a of a 'mother hen.' Anyway I'll get down from my box now.

You have a lot of my sympathys with them sentiments. I'm aware the child is just that - a child, but really! I've seen more acting ability in Epping Forest.

As for the whole storyline, which was inplausable to begin with, well it's frankly become silly. Family Courts surely?

The recent Magaret/Sonia/Martin thing is another of these, evidently, well thought out plots. The whole set-up is frankly beyond rediculas. I seem to remember, from a certain era, been told to make things seem realistic (and appeal to your audience). I wonder if the EE script writers were ever told the same?

And so, Freddie and Little Mo are in trouble again. The woman seems to leap from one disaster to another. In short (and I am being breif here, beleive me) she's had an abusive relationship, almost killed in a fire, raped, had a baby from the rape, numerous failed relationships, married then divorced and now appears to be a child abuser. I don't know about you but i'd be a bit tired by now, certainly not got the energy to shake a tot!

Speaking of disaster, Grant and Jayne. The days of fondeling seem to have returned (after there noticeable absence from EE) and this time the resident 'hardman' Grant has fallen for cafe Jayne, and avoiding a side order joke I wonder if anyone has again thought this one out. Here we have a woman who, and again keeping with the cafe theme, wouldn't have butter melt in her mouth, yet we're led to beleive she's prepared to have an adulterous affair in the Queen Vic cellar. Now pardon me but the Queen Vic cellar would be the last place I'd be prepared to, and quoting the expansion expert Ian, get "jiggy" with Grant (of all people!)

We can only wait with somewhat baited breathe (much like a Cafe order) to see what next week can hold, apart fromt the TVF spoilers, and wonder again if EE's script writers really have been earning their two cents.

Interesting points. As far as I'm concerned the whole soap is digging a bigger hole as each episode goes on. I hate to say it but it some respects I think its beyond repair. I mean, the scripting is so bad its making a mockery of former well-known characters such as the Mitchells and Pauline and Dot.

I read something a few months back that there was real pressure on the set at Elstree and many of the cast were often in feuds with each other - notably when Jessie Wallace was around. I think this makes for poor performance in general as it was clear to me that the atmosphere was different on set as it was off.

Another thing to note is the ever-changing production crew. The numerous Exec Producers the show has had in recent years is ridiculous. Also when you have someone like Tony Jordan only as Script consultant it clearly shows that he isn't putting as much input in as when he was part of the actual storyline team. Same writing team as Holby City and Casualty? That says it all then.

All in all this makes bad continuity. Its a sad end to a well-loved soap.

If it had been the category I would have gone for Hollyoaks - its only one that seems a bit realistic out of all the few British soaps at the moment!!

Eastenders - utter rubbish
Coronation Street - what a load of tripe
Doctors - whats the point of the serialised drama serial!!!!!
Pobol Y Cwm - eh???? (sorry to welsh people but its just non-understandable to a pure english speaking person - even with subtitles!) - oops I mean People Of The Valley
Emmerdale - trying to pass itself off as a UK version of Dallas/Knots Landing/Dynasty/The colbys - too far fetched!!!!
The Bill - just plods along with very weak stories
Hollyaoks - too many studenty stories but at least they are trying to write some decent stories
Holby City/Casualty - well past their sell by date (with regards to Holby City - bring back Anton Meyer!)

EASTENDERS staged a brilliant comeback last night by trouncing rival Corrie at the Baftas.

The BBC1 soap grabbed the Best Continuing Drama prize after failing even to be nominated for the past two years.

Coronation Street stars, who won three years in a row, could only look on as EastEnders capped a great night for the BBC at TV’s Oscars.

Check out our super slideshow for pictures of some of the night's big winners!

Jessie Wallace, who played Kat Moon in the Beeb show, looked stunning as she arrived at the London bash.

ITV Corrie’s Kate Ford, who plays Tracy Barlow, hid her disappointment as she turned heads in a shimmering red dress.

Ex-EastEnder Shane Richie, who played Alfie Moon, said of the win: “It feels like this is a vote from the public.”

And he hinted at a comeback — with Jessie. He said: “We’re just having a long break before we hopefully turn back up in the Square.”

I can't wait to watch this,Why does Kate always have a hissy fit?
