EastEnders - General Discussion Thread

It feels like we've been stuck with the current storylines for about hundred years, and I'm getting increasingly fed up.

The most annoying one at the moment for me is the one centred around Ben. I wouldn't like to criticise the actor who plays Ben - the lad is doing his best, but I think some of the lines he is given are not appropriate for a child and just sound totallly unnatural. Maybe it's just that I'm not used to seeing so much exposure of a young actor.

Did anyone see what it was that Phil removed from his car when he was disabling the alarm?

Also, whilst the Kevin character has great potential, Carly's tone of voice can surely only be appreciated by conoisseurs of bad accents. And the way Grant speaks is really getting my goat as well.

What's laughable? Carly being a bad actress? Oh please... she is just AWFUL. She can't stage fight to save her life.

I hate the way several storylines are centred around Ben who is just awful. They could have got somebody to play him who doesn't sound so gay and weedy, IMO. And Grant's eyebrows have gone haywire...very wooden. Carly is a terrible actress however her perormance on her brother's anniversary was quite beliveable I suppose.

i find ben's voice annoying in that they think nine-year-olds talk like cute little toddlers who cannot pwonounce their 'r's

which is actually insulting to nine year olds.
Listen to chesney in cornonation street or daz in emerdale, ok they are slightly older but they speak in their normal voices, not a pseudo cute kiddie voice.

I think it would have been a lot more interesting if Kathy came back from South Africa. Ben and her partner get killed and she comes back to Walford and ends up in a tug of war for her affections between Phil and Ian. Too late now of course.

This Ben business really is boring the bejesus out of me. Throw him and Courtney under Charlie's taxi and be done with them, that's what I say.

Can' Little Mo smother Ben? I might complain to the BBC , this kid is utter s h i t e.

Lets not forget also the fact that Ben is supposedly deaf. Now, I don't know how deaf he's supposed to be but surely his speech should be impaired slightly.

Only if she smothers herself afterwards. She's turned into a frumpy old mare.

I'm also not liking the Grant and Jane story. Yawn.
