EastEnders is recognised by Rose d'Or for twenty-one years of success.

EastEnders has received the international television honour of being inducted into the Rose D'Or Hall of Fame. Perry Fenwick (Billy) and Adam Woodyatt (Ian) travelled to Switzerland to accept the accolade.
Head of the Rose D'Or, George Luks said: "This high profile Rose D'Or honour recognises the continuing success of EastEnders after 21 years." In 2004, Shane Richie (Alfie) won a Rose D'Or award for best performance in a soap.
EastEnders has also been nominated for a Bafta this year.

Really? It's one of the most prestigious awards, awarded to shows, personalities and broadcasters from around the world.

It makes me wanna retch to be honest. I can only think the Rose D'or has been awarded because its the BBC's longest running TV soap and it celebrates 21 years etc - thats what I've told myself anyway. Rolling Eyes If the award's been given for excellent storylines then..pwah!

Tonight (Thursday's edition)...complete random mess again. Carly and Deano almost crashing into Mo and the Doctor's car... "Duh! Why don't you shut your eyes whilst driving...duh! That'll be funny..ha. ha.. bliming ha."

Bert and Kevin getting drunk and having a spout about the North South divide.....yawn!

All this just to end in the cliffhanger that Mo's baby is not responding. I give up...I'll give it two weeks or thats it, after about 15 years, I'm saying goodbye to the folks at Albert Square and sticking to Corrie. Mad

Oh great news then Smile

DOT Branning is to give up ciggies as the Queen Vic — and the whole EastEnders set — goes smoke-free.

Actress June Brown, will not be seen smoking in the boozer which, like every pub in Britain, will become smoke-free from next year.

But actors will not be able to smoke anywhere in the Square as it is a BBC workplace. So Dot may not even be seen having a cig at home.
