Yes, after watching tonight's episode, I can truly say Eastenders has sunk into new territory.

"new territory" in a good way or bad?

I for one think good.

Tonights episode was funny in places and i did quite enjoy it. Not keen on Sean though, he reminds me of a butch Robert Robinson (from Neighbours) - that look he does!

Why the praise? It was god-awful rubbish. I found this quote about Stella on the internet.
Quote:
Meanwhile, keep an eye on Walford newcomer Stella Crawford, Phil's sensible new girlfriend. Or is she as straight-laced as we first imagined?

A controversial storyline sees her as one of the UK's most-hated soap characters. The clue, if you want one, is in her name. Think Hollywood!

I am guessing paedophile. Anyone else?

I loved the way Sean walked past the chippy and knocked on the window to Max. Laughing

Cruella De Ville? probably.

Apparently something happens to Ben at the end of the month? Anyone know what it is, i heard that she burns him with a spoon, or watches him being beaten up by bullies at school.

Apparently Stella is gonna become a really dark character! Real stepmother stuff! I won't spoil it but i read today that she.... and then she does... and then Ben says... Then Stella does.. It's all top secret stuff. Or just buy a copy of the Sun or Inside soap. The mags make it sound really Oooh! but when you watch it, it's really crap. I mostly blame the scriptwriters as no matter how good an actor you are, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Well I am thinking of one of Joan Crawford's books where the children are abused.

It is good EastEnders are (trying) tackling real life issues such as Glaucoma and child abuse.
