Yes, but they said that about Honey, Dawn Miller etc and the only stir they've caused is mixing cocktails behind the bar. Rolling Eyes

Exactly. I don't think these hyperbolic press releases should be reproduced here as they are nearly always rubbish.

Honey is one of the worst characters we have suffered for years.

Exactly, I don't think we should publish the trash again here, the tabloids always use cliched phrases like that anyway, don't fall for them.

Another embarrassing episode tonight. Dawn and that Wicks girl fighting...I've never seen such bad stage fighting. Mad Arrrrrrggggggh!! I really don't know what the future is for this soap - its just getting worse, the storylines, the acting.

Says you.

Are you incapable of seeing the programme objectively?

Your mouth-frothing approval of everthing doesn't particularly further the discussion on how the programme can improve.

i actually thought tonight's programme was OK. Dawn and Carly look like two promisng young characters, something the Square has been lacking in recent years (Spencer, Juley, anyone?). As long as they move this Phil/Ian/Ben triangle along before it gets any more tedious, and get rid of Little Mo as soon as possible, there's hope yet.

If I were to go back 2 weeks worth of your posts, would I see you being critical?

Anyway, some of the plot lines haven't moved on at all in the last fortnight.

When is this Joe storyline going to come to a head? It was an improbable story in the first place, and seems to have been shoehorned in.

Are we really to beleive that Pauline, who never fails to make her feelings known, wouldn't have put her foot down about Joe's 'old friend' moving in? I can't beleive it any more than I beleive Joe is a one-time convicted cat burglar.

Well I stand by what I say, Dawn and Carly are two promising young actors? Oh pur-lease..! None of the actors care anymore, they get their pay packet and go as far as I'm concerned.

I mean, look at this poll currently running on the website...

Who should have a boyfriend?

Carly
Dawn
Ruby

So its not only the whole soap thats turned simple, its the website as well. Rolling Eyes I note a few months ago, they stopped the EastEnders Newsletter because they simply couldn't be bothered. Mad

Its such a shame. A few years ago, EastEnders used to be hard-gritty dramatic stuff....but I'm afraid nowadays its turning into pantoland by the second. I mean, if it were a childrens story it would sound like this..

"Once upon a time there was a boy called Ben. Ben didn't get on with his father and one day he decided to go missing. Ben's Uncle Grant came to help his father in 'the search for Ben'. "We'll go together eh Bruv?" said Uncle Grant. "Yeah Ok" said Phil. In the end it turned out he was safe all along. "I'm sorry" said Ben. "thats ok" said Ben's father and they all lived happily ever after."

Same goes for Dot.. "Once there was an old lady called Dot. She lived in a terrace house. One day, she broke her ankle and was put in a wheelchair for many days. During this time, she became very nosy... "

WHO IS WRITING EASTENDERS THESE DAYS?

Well in the case of Dot's storyline, you should ask Alfred Hitchcock.
