Isn't it about time we got rid of the poll now?

Nope, EE hasn't finished rising from the ashes yet.

They are still desperate relying on people either leaving or characters from years ago coming back which makes all the headlines in the tabloids

I have been impressed by Melissa Suffield's (Lucy Beale). For a youngster, with quite a small part, she has potential.

I wonder how much the character will turn out like her mother, Cindy, in the future.

Potentials certainly there.

Of all the young actors on that show Ruby is the real standout for me.

I cannot stand the character of Ruby anymore. I find her and Juley as a couple disturbing - he's in his twenties and she looks like a little girl. Johnny's about to threaten revenge this time on Phil which ties in with Sharon's exit (again!), so next week is set to be dramatic!

Isn't that part of the point? That they're an incongruous couple? That Phil knew Johnny would be upset?

Among the young actors I think Stacey Slater is outstanding, but agree that Lucy isn't bad... likewise Ruby, while the Miller daughter, Alisha's mum (sorry... memory lapse) was excellent earlier in the year but her part has retreated a bit lately. Her scene in the graveyard with Sonia wasn't bad recently.

Demi is apalling. I'm starting to think the only reason she's there is because of her brother Joe Swash (Mickey). Her graveard scene was pretty good, but the girl can't act.
Stacey is amazing, her scenes with her mother were probabaly one of the highlights of Eastenders last year, it was really something different. I hated her character when she first arrived, but I've warmed to her. She's very convincing too and has the ability to make an episode that much better.

Digitalspy have put up preview pictures of tonights episode of EastEnders. Tonight the residents of Albert Square turn out in their droves to say farewell to Dennis Rickman, who was fatally stabbed on New Years Eve. However, tempers soon get out of hand and as we can see, poor Sharon is in an awful state. Prepare for an emotional and explosive farewell. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Slightly unrealistic that Dennis' body has been released so soon, and there hasn't been a murder probe! There haven't been any police on the square have there? However, I don't think EE will want to make a doorman a main character.

Spoiler:

Sharon leaves this Friday with Phil. Apparently, Phil breaks into Johnny's house after vowing to Sharon to sort out Johnny once and for all. Phil intends to kill Johnny but discovers Ruby unconcious. Phil debates whether to leave Ruby to die or to save her. He finally does the decent thing and saves Ruby which after Johnny discovers this, calls a truce against the Mitchell's. But Phil is secretly plotting his revenge against Johnny and he returns in March and calls upon brother Grant to help him get rid of Johnny... which ends in either Grant or Johnny murdered!

Highlight to read, re the spoiler above:

It's got to be Johnny that gets murdered. I can't see Grant being killed off IMO. Besides, I thought someone said Johnny got bumped off on February 18th.
