Scrolling credits and a male singing at the end. Very nice touch.

Nice breakdown just before EE tonight. System threw a wobbler and held on the start of the African ident for a while before kicking in with the anno apologising and introducing EE. Ident runs (until end?) and then black for an age before crashing into the programme at the end of the titles.

Bet the announcer was thinking "I'm introducing this programme but God knows if it's going to start!"

BBC1 Wales was fine, no breakdown.

Yorkshire had problems at the end.

How good has EastEnders been lately?! And I particularly liked tonights episode and I think we can put that down to Kate Harwood - she genuinely seems to be putting her mark on the place, I was worried that there John Yorke would constantly be trying to recreate his era but NO, this genuinely was drama at its best. The episode had everything you could ask for.

Of course the writing was brilliant, it was Phelps! But I also found it very experimental challenging the codes & conventions of soap - SOMETHING which needs to be done more, and EE have done it quite a bit recently. People who complain about this episode need to get a sense of real television & film. The cinematograhy of it all was just brilliant, some very professional shots there.

Anyway hats off to Kate Harwood, Sarah Phelps and whoever let it go ahead, KH's a real asset and helping EastEnders to stand out from being just a populist programme for the masses like Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

The first time EVER that a Simon May composition hasn't been used over the end credits.

Simon's swimming pool will be half a degree cooler for a day, due to the lack of royalties.

Nope, some 1940s song was played over the credits on the episode where Ethel died.

Was that over a generic backgound or some landscape shot? And no ECP? I'm guessing that even if one was scheduled, it wouldn't have run tonight! Very Happy (Apart from in the Nations of course!)

The Camera pulled out to show the whole sea of gravestones, as Alfie and Nana walked away from William's grave.

Oh I hope you are feeling better now...
