The storyline with the Beales at their Karate lessons was so predictable.

The boys are good at it,the girls feel their rubbish. And,what do you know, the girls win.

How about having it go differently?

A tall person/man thinks they're good at it, a short peson/woman doubts themselves and ends up loosing to the tall person/ man.

Tonights episode could have featured a bit more of this Den storyline, rather than filling it up lazily with constant man bashing from Pauline,Jane and Sonia.

Well, so long as they're not bringing Mike Reid back as Frank, I mean clearly that would just be desperation...how many times has he come and gone now? When Peggy left Frank there on the cliffside in Spain in 2002, what a nice ending that was. We all waved him off to the sad closing theme as he was about to rebuild his new life in Spain and forget about the past and Pat.

Tough... Mike is set to return for Janine's trial in December for several episodes.

Heavy-handed references to Romeo and Juliet tonight. Some good acting though, especially from the girl who plays Demi.

I thought tonight's EastEnders was really sad. For the first time in years, I felt real emotion coming off tonight's ep. I wasn't expecting Leo to die.

The scenes with Rosie and Leo's mum when they heard the news was quite moving. I just can't wait now for the death of Den storyline to return, with Sharon's wedding, discovery of Den's body and Peggy's return - its going to be an eventful autumn!

From Digital Spy:

Quote:
EastEnders stars Nigel Harman and Letitia Dean are quitting the soap.

The actors, who play Dennis Rickman and Sharon Watts respectively, will film their final scenes in November and leave the show in a sensational New Year storyline.

Speaking to DS today, a spokeswoman for the soap confirmed that Nigel has decided that he wants to leave for good, while Letitia is planning on taking an "extended career break".

Meanwhile, a source told The Mirror, "Writers are now planning Dennis' exit storyline. He has been a fantastic asset to the show and is one of the most popular characters. But he had made up his mind that the time was right for him to walk away."

Harman first joined the soap in 2003 and was voted Best Newcomer at the National TV Awards.

Those two seem to be coming and going whenever they feel like. Laughing

I hope they don't turn into another Rikki and Bianca.

I wonder what they mean by long career break? No offence to Ms Dean but she has tired to leave Enders a few times to "better" herself and has returned each time with her tail between her legs.

I always thought that Nigel would leave one day, I can quite easily see him treading the boards or appearing in films.

So this must be the 200th time Letitia Dean has taken an extended break? She has only just returned. Bringing Sharon back and forth over the last 5 years has been ridiculous. EE bosses should either decide to never let her return or just kill the character off.

Good luck to Nigel Harman. I knew he would quit it one day, he is just too good for it. I can see him going far.

I think EastEnders is coming to the end of its life. It has lost major characters within the last few months -

Zoe, Chrissie, Den, Sam, Sharon, Dennis, Kat, Alfie, Nana, Danny, Kate, Janine.

I think its time they got lots of new faces in. Though The Millers have grown on me a lot - the Demi and Leo storyline was quite good.
