Nice to hear the first ninety seconds of Sowing the Seeds of Love by Tears for Fears in the Queen Vic.

Oh I do love that song!

Fantastic episode tonight, and great ending, the writers seem to have their good episodes and bad episodes recently, but tonight was definitely good. One quibble I have is Ian turning up everywhere. I felt like screaming, 'Get your own storyline!'. Really getting into the Demi story now as well.

That kid who plays Leo is an awful actor. I wonder if they are moulding him into the next Jamie Mitchell?

Is it me or is EastEnders promoting ITV shows? Over the past couple of weeks I have heard mentioned, or the theme to...

Pop Idol
The X Factor
Channel Reports
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

And apparently, Pauline likes watching "that show set on a farm"... Hmmm, answers on a postcard please!

Wendy Richard is a fan of the Archers, you know.

EE has also referred to Coronation Street in the past; at Christmas 1987 when the Beales were playing charades in Pete's flat someone thought Lofty (I think) was doing a mime to Corrie; and one of the questions when Arthur appeared on Cat and Mouse back in 1989 was to name the actress who played Ena Sharples.

Tonight's episode is awful! Sharon and Dennis rowing again. And Martin has yet another birthday! He appears to be 20 this time, now in my Who's Who book it states he was born on 30/7/1985. Ok, maybe i'm being picky about that but Dot playing a video game and winning....per-lease...! Rolling Eyes

Are you sure? The music from Millionaire appeared in a scene at the end of Corrie last week.

Hmm, I thought so too.

Nothing can ever beat the episode of "The Royle Family" when they all sang along to the theme tune of "Emmerdale". Brilliant.

Demi reminds me a lot of a young Bianca - without the strident voice, obviously. And how witty to name half a set of twins literally "Half".

Well, so long as they're not bringing Mike Reid back as Frank, I mean clearly that would just be desperation...how many times has he come and gone now? When Peggy left Frank there on the cliffside in Spain in 2002, what a nice ending that was. We all waved him off to the sad closing theme as he was about to rebuild his new life in Spain and forget about the past and Pat.

From BBC Press Office:

Quote:
EastEnders today confirmed there will be some new arrivals in Walford before the end of the year.

The legendary Frank Butcher, played by Mike Reid, will be returning for his daughter Janine's trial.

Meanwhile, a new face will be turning up and causing a stir amongst the women of Walford.

Deano Wicks, played by Matt Di Angelo, is Pat's nephew. He is a cocky, charismatic young lad who expects to take the world by storm.

He has an eye for the ladies and doesn't see anyone as out of his league. It is the pursuit of these women that more often than not will land him in a bit of trouble.

Matt said: "I can't wait to join EastEnders to play Deano. He's a combination of a young Alfie Moon and Del Boy.

"He rates himself quite highly too so he's going to have lots of fun in the square."

Frank Butcher's return to the square coincides with his daughter Janine's trial for the murder of Laura Beale.

He is only back for the duration of the trial but while he is there his presence ruffles a lot of feathers as old feelings resurface and old loyalties are tested.

Mike Reid and Matt Di Angelo join the square in December
