Indeed.

It's the script continuity that's the main failing of EastEnders nowadays.

Yes, they have a bad problem with that. Minty's real name is supposed to be Paul Mintson (as mentioned by DI Marsden when she was looking for Phil Mitchell) not Rick Peterson. Rolling Eyes

Plus numerous other gaps they don't fill! Mad

oddities about EE:

Minty was supposed to be a tough guy, now hes a big softie, same for Billy.

The Millers have no money, yet they live in a large house in expensive London.

Pathetic.

I belive it's ment to be a council house.

The Miller's place is a council house, but there are dozen of errors and changes peppered through the script.

This business of Keith not being able to read is a good example of the lack of continuity, but more than that, now that we are getting the "Keith can't read" storyline, its being done to death.

No chance for a subtle exploration across several weeks of a man who copes with struggling with letters, signs etc. - no, we get it all in one giant dollop. Of course *everyone* in the Vic will see Keith not managing the stock manifest, just an episiode after his children spot he is faking reading the paper. The next thing, I have no doubt, will be another public spectacle of Keith's inability.

There is no logic to the way the stories develop. They would have us beleive that Keith has managed to hide this fact his whole life, yet all of a sudden EVERYONE will know.

Lazy, lazy writing. It reeks, it really does.

When you think about it if the Millers had the benefits taken off them then they would also need to pay for the rent on their house.

I think the Millers have been badly researched. I also think the writers feel viewers have very short memories.

I have a few thoughts:

1. I have seen Demi and Mickey using mobile phones.
2. There is a telephone box in the square.
3. The Millers said they have £500 of illegally claimed benefits to pay back, which I imagine would be over a generous period of time. If they only have £500 to repay their benefits cannot have been greatly reduced.
4. They must have a very low phone bill, how much would someone pay for a second hand television? I know London is expensive, but does ten-pin bowling really cost £20. (I'm going off topic here, but isn't Ian a weasel? What does Jane see in him?)
5. Adult literacy classes are available free of charge.
6. As much as I don't like Stacey's character, the public have been asked to report benefit fraud, we're all paying for it after all. I think it was wrong to show Dot and Pauline siding with the Millers over this.

There are no such obvious holes in Emmerdale or Corrie.

How did Keith know that the book that darren gave him called 'Learn to read' was a book for six year olds? He may have seen the 6, but how would he be able to read to know that it said 'Ages 6 - 7.' It also seemed that he knew what the book was about. What's that all about. Maybe I am overreacting?

They should at least say he has severe glaucoma or something. It irritates me.

I may be wrong here, but I think what CC100 was trying to say was that they had mobile phones that they could use so why were they getting mad that their home phone had been cut off. Like I said, I may be wrong.
