Really great episode tonight and once again Chrissie was wonderful. Tracy Ann Oberman is a very good actress. It's amazing how she is able to keep her cool whilst Sam is going to bits. That police detective looked familiar. Was he ever in the bill? I know that he was in Distant Shores recently but I think I've seen him elsewhere. Big Mo was funny when she was going on about Andy.

And I just remebered my favourite quote from Friday's episode, it was from Den.

Sam to Den: I don't think you know how much I hate you.
Den: Well I was never going to join your fanclub, send off for a newsletter and a badge. Very Happy

I also agrre that the promo ruined it at the end. I was looking forward to the shot of the cellar before the duf duf duffer duffer. Not even an apology either.

Yeah, the cellar was the key part of that episode! Mad

Never mind....

I personally don't think Kim Medcalf (Sam) is a good actress. Judging by her performance in the BBC1 Den trailers and tonight! Mad

I did enjoy the hour long special, but I kept in mind that I'm not expected to think in any depth whilst viewing.

The one thing that pisses me of with eastenders, is that its so drab! Nothing is ever happy! Happy endings! There is never a happy ending!

Den was a moron. But they need to get over the instant shock that hits them in such an unlikely situation.

What they did was all defense, anyway, right?

EastEnders maintained it's ratings high from Friday, though not it's ratings lead over Coronation Street. 13.4 million tuned in for the latest shenanigans from Albert Square. The double-bill of Coronation Street, either side of Tonight with Trevor McDonald, drew 13.6 and 11.7 million viewers respectively.

I think when Zoe hit him that could be called self defence as she was just tying to help Chrissie - though he wasn't actually attacking Zoe so I'm not sure if Self Defence would be applicable. I don't think when Chrissie hit him it could be called Self Defence at all.

Eastenders will go interactive from next Monday. After the 8 p.m. show digital viewers can see a 15 minute behind the scenes magazine programme.
The BBC will be closing the Eastenders message board this Friday amongst others, including Neighbours and TOTP.

Isn't this EastEnders Xtra. The Inbteractive show that goes behind the scenes! The BBC haven't revealed whether EastEnders revealed will be axed. But it seems that EastEnders Revealed is only on occasionlay, one off specials, like for somebody who has left or new charcacters.

EE Revealed appears to have been on after each episode this week.

If it is going, can someone cap the titles - very Family Affairs IMO.

KATE HARWOOD - EASTENDERS NEW EXEC PRODUCER!

The BBC confirmed this afternoon that Kate Harwood is to be the new exec producer for EastEnders. By the sound of things, she looks set to whip EastEnders around & bring it back to the top spot. Let's just hope she's better than Berridge and Hutchinson.

The BBC has appointed a new executive producer for EastEnders.
Kate Harwood, who has been responsible for programmes including Crime And Punishment and Daniel Deronda, is stepping into the role.

In January, Kathleen Hutchison quit the show "by mutual consent" after just four months in the job.

The month also saw EastEnders draw its lowest audience share in more than five years with 6.8 million viewers tuning in to one episode.

However, more than 14 million people saw "Dirty" Den Watts killed off last week, according to early viewing figures.

'Creative force'

Ms Harwood said she was "very excited" to be taking up the challenge. "I've been a fan for many years and can't wait to meet the cast and to start working with the production team planning the show's future," she said.

Ms Harwood, who has been working on the forthcoming BBC One drama Elizabeth, The Virgin Queen, is expected to take up the EastEnders post within two weeks.

John Yorke, BBC controller for continuing drama series, said: "I am delighted that Kate will be joining the team.

"She has an excellent reputation across the industry, she understands how to tell stories and how to engage the viewer, it is a real coup for us to have her on board."

Laura Mackie, head of drama series and serials added: "Kate is one of the most talented creative forces in the drama community.

"She has consistently uncovered the very best new talent both on and off screen and I know she will relish the challenge and opportunity that EastEnders provides."

Very Happy
