I thought Johnny was retiring? I agree that Billy Murray is a fantastic actor and is so convincing
Anyhow! Fantastic episode!! Not as good as others I must admit. We had a Mitchell but she didn't have much input into the whole thing.
That scene in the Vic - Would have been brilliant if the Mitchell brothers had returned with Sharon
Den = piggy in the middle!

I agree. I thought it would of been better if Chrissie had gotten him to unknowingly sign the documents then tell him. There is no way Den would of just willingly signed everything over to her.

the idea of getting him to knowingly sign over everything was pretty weak - it was obvious that wasn't going to happen.

i have to agree with Brekkie Boy on most of his points. i have also intermittently watched eastenders for the past year and felt as if ive missed nothing at all. i cant believe that all these ppl are posting on here saying how good that episode was. i thought the acting was mediocre which actually made alfie moon actually look good. the storyline was ok but it is about time there was a decent story in eastenders. i dont know what else to say about the series/episode as it didnt move me in the slightest and just made me appreciate corrie even more. i also agree with the person mentioning that charlie stubbs in corrie is so much more menacing than all the hardmen in eastenders.
if this episode is the best eastenders can come up with (story and acting) then it does deserve to fail.

What an episode!
A truly amazing hour-long special and it certainly gave EE the 20th anniversary episode it deserved!
Andy's death was quite shocking. The twist for me was when that Eddie guy turned against him and basically handed him over to Johnny. I love Johnny Allen - now that Andy's gone, he is now officially Walford's new big man and he deserves it because he is a great actor and for once a convincing gangster. When Johnny pushed him over - i was shocked but cheered him on because Andy was just pure evil, come on he even attacked Nana Moon and threatened Pat. Good riddance!
Den's demise was the best! Den (Leslie Grantham), Chrissie (Tracy-Ann Oberman), and Zoe (Michelle Ryan) 's acting was superb, they were all really convincing, though, in my opinion, Sam was quite disappointing - she just stood there and did nothing! Me and my mates were cheering Chrissie on when she was giving it to Den, he deserved it! I knew Sharon was coming back but still it was a shock. I loved how they had her coming out the shadows...for a minute I thought it was Angie back from the dead, lol!
But when Sharon heard all she had to hear and said what she did to Den, that's when I knew Den was going to REALLY loose it. He basically went psychotic. The fight scene in the Vic was quite scary but I was shocked that both Zoe and Chrissie were responsible for his death. There's no way back for Den now!
EastEnders, after tonight's episode, has now opened up more storylines. Because Sam was the only one to see what Chrissie did (& when Den wasn't really dead, I jumped) she will now blackmail, I think, Chrissie for the Vic back and this could tie in with the return of Peggy. There will also be problems with Jake and Danny, after recent events. And Zoe's world is going to come crashing down.
However, well done EastEnders - a great ep and Happy 20th Birthday! Now that Andy and Den are gone, you can concentrate on bringing the soap back to the topspot where it belongs...
roll on the departure of the Ferreiras
and roll on the arrivals/returns of Dennis, Sharon , Kat, Peggy and Phil! I can't wait to meet Johnny Allen's daughter and girlfriend, and I do hope that Grant & Kathy will come back.
CONGRATS EE!

Wasn't it Pauline's cast iron dog shaped door stop? She'd lent it to the builder to keep his door open (she'd earlier tripped over his spade) and I think Den took it inside the pub... And I only watched the first and last 5 minutes of the show!

Great episode, though pretty 'typical' when you cast your minds back to when other MAIN characters have departed. The bringing of ALL the old faces to the Vic was just predictable. Apart from Jim and Alfie - everyone else sat in the Vic for Den's farewell episode has more or less been in it from the start. It's been way toomlong since we saw old Pat Butcher sat at the bar...............In fact it reminded me of when her and Angie used to hang out together, quite nostalgic.
Dan and Pauline, Den and Dot, Den and Pat, Den and Ian, they all got their last moment of acting with what was the great Dennis Watts.
I think Yorkie is about to turn this ship about, so look out Corrie, you might have a fight on your hands.

Zoe going to jail would seem the obvious way of writing her out, however, I don't think it will come to that. Don't forget, Den is meant to be stowed away Fred West style, under the floor boards. If this is the case, they can't pin it on either one of three witches.

Would I be correct in thinking seeing that Michelle Ryan is leaving, Zoe's going down for the murder of Den, even though Sam (& the rest of us) knows the truth?
