I assume it's all down to the temporary exec having to tidy away the dodgy storylines as quickly but as comprehensively as possible. Elsewhere people have been moaning that they just cut them completely, but I did point out that you can't just have the bloke wander in and say "Job's off boys, I'm off back to my home planet."

The robbery was an absolute shambles, in and out of universe. Fake name badges with real (character) names on them, a stalled hearse parked at 90 degrees across a road that doesn't arouse any suspicion from the armed van drivers, then the van gets redirected to outside the business Phil owns (or used to) and everyone (who all live within a stone's throw) starts waving shootahs and shouting right where everyone can see them (and right next to a playground, if I remember correctly).

And those are hardly the only implausibilities recently. But I'm digressing. Isn't whatever ident they used going in to the latest episode awful?

This whole robbery thing is so confusing, I have no idea what's going on. There's been no proper explanation on-screen for any of it.

I remember there was a time before a producer got sacked from EE (can't remember which one now, possible Kate Harwood?) and they suddenly scrapped a load of storylines that suddenly vanished (one of which involved several characters forming a football team). I seem to remember things got so bad with what they were changing around and rewrites there was talk of taking the show off the air for a few weeks (which never happened in the end).

There seems to have been quite a bit of not-quite-explaining-everything going on lately. Which is fine if you're a Scandy murder drama or a Netflix event series, but a soap's a soap. It's not supposed to be complicated, no-one expects it to be, and it just makes it confusing when they try. And of course it doesn't help that they've been forced to make a pig's ear of everything.

I did like the Mr Papadopolous call-back last night, though.

I turned in to EE this evening aswell, what a bloody joke. I agree with what's being said its a complete dogs dinner. Eastenders has been getting worse all year, and it hasn't been help with the bonker storylines and nonsensical plots. It just felt like South Park joke "Family Guy dolphins"

Lauren suddenly appeared at Abi's bedside at the end of tonight's episode and seemed to be clued up on what's going on with her sister.

After she asked her boyfriend Josh to push her over there.

The idea I'm getting with this robbery storyline is they're going to slowly explain it AFTER the fact, which has a lot to do with why it's so damn confusing. Not that even that excuses the lack of any real exposition in the lead up to it.

All I've gathered so far is that there is some criminal mind games between Aidan and his ex-wife, the latter who also appears to be working for someone even larger on the EE crime front.

The robbery was set up to wind up Aidan's ex. Well I think it was at least?!

I haven't watched EE for a while just dipped in over Christmas, but that Aidan is be meant to be from Ireland or America?? because his accent keeps switching.
