It's even more annoying if you have Sky Q, there isn't an auto option so you have to force the TV to 4:3 or put up with it.
Given that there's definitely no software or hardware limitation in pillarboxing it, Sky have clearly made a conscious (and questionable) decision to stick to "stretchy-vision".

I also have the problem that my 4K Sony TV greys out the 4:3 option when receiving the UHD input from Sky Q, so there's literally no way of avoiding stretchy-vision, other than going into the Sky Q settings menu and temporarily dropping the output down to HD.

Interestingly the "Turk" slurs were left in, as were quite a few "bloody"s. Although bloody isn't really a bad word anymore, I'm surprised it stayed in.
