Liz is Libby's gran, whos son (Owen) is the guy that tried to kill Libby and she lived in Spain for a while but came back to try and get Libby and Owen back together again. She's been living at Dot and Jim's for a while now.

Amazingly I didn't find people wanting to view the festering dismembered corpse of a relative the least credible element of this episode. That honour was reserved for the scenes where 'Fat Pat' was re-enacting a skit with characters from Love Thy Neighbour
