Is it me or has Phil become particularly annoying lately?

Do you think tonights EastEnders was an "ignoring special"? Who would make the decision to make such a special? Here are the scenes and lines that made me think it was a special.
Max ignored Bradley in the cafe (Bradley: "How can you tell if someone is ignoring you?")
That girl with the dog ignored Bradley as he shouted through her letterbox.
Stacey ignored Jean when she was busy playing scratch cards
Peggy ignored Phil at first when he wanted a drink (Phil: "Mother, are you ignoring me?")
The woman on the flower stall was ignoring Jean while she was explaining her flower knowledge.
That new doctor ignored his hippocratic oath.
Ronnie ignored Roxy when they first went to the hospital.
Tanya ignored Max when they were in the restaurant.
Phil ignored Peggy when she visited him at the hospital.
Good episode. Trace(y) was serving in The Queen Victoria in tonights episode but I'm not sure we actually saw her, did we?

Having taken a short break from watching Eastenders, I tuned in tonight to be confronted with Ronnie screaming her head off at Jack. Then someone else was screaming (forget who) and it was generally the same old miserable rubbish with poorly recycled storylines.
Gone are the days of blockbuster storylines now, when the whole nation would be gripped on the edge of their seats and we'd spend weeks talking about it before and after. The soap has become one long, embarassing, drawn out amateur dramatics performance.
I just can't take it anymore. And I'll never forgive them for killing Danielle / Amy either.

I think their were other subtle mentions - Patrick buying the kid the cd - I think it was a micheal jackson one wasn't it?
noticed an added scene refering to Michael Jackson's death, just makes the rest of the episode silly in that nobody else mentions it (because it was filmed March)
what is it with Christian strutting round like a gay Adonis

Although soaps aren't real life so don't need to react in this way, I actually think this was a nice addition and seemed pretty natural. It sat better than the references to englnad in the football a few years back they seemed to stick out like a sore thumb whereas the exchange that took place between Denise and Patrick was well done IMO
They had an MJ song playing in the Vic. They play the music over the scene anyway, don't they?
