Can someone tell me the appeal of EastEnders at the moment?
It's gone downhill so far that Neighbours has more convincing storylines...
Only two reasons to watch EastEnders...

Was I seeing things earlier, or is the crazy Doctor woman who tried to kidnap Dawns baby a few years back making a return and tries to get her hand on 'whuevaatrevaa' Jay?
Looks quite gripping might get EE back on track after a boring few months. The advert is currently playing on BBC One if you haven't caught it yet.

It's basically a pre-paid re-usable card.

Exactly what I thought - surely he'd always be bunking on tubes and buses.
Then last night we see Keith and Bianca get on a bus that they have to "catch" (i.e. timetabled rather than every few minutes, which is pretty rare in most parts of London), which has no Oyster card reader and no middle door.
Have the writers or set designers ever actually been to East London?!

Some of the smaller local bus companies, albeit still part of TfL, don't accept Oyster and use older buses.
In Harrow there is a local company ("North Thames Bus Co") which, although use big shiny red buses with the TfL logo on, don't use Oyster and give you the old arrow-shaped ticket. These have no middle door neither.
I can't really imagine a double-decker or a 'BendyBus' getting around Albert Square really, can you?!

Nope, but then the set is scaled down. And a single decker bus would be fine, just seems like they haven't updated their bus prop for a while - what you describe is certainly rare, if not unheard of in inner areas like Walford (apparently zone 2/3).
