A relocation to Pinewood Studios is looking a lot more likely, as the studios are currently carrying out a huge amount of redevelopment work on the backlots. Info here.

It hasn't been built yet, so there's still enough time to incorporate a set for EastEnders.

I notice that DigitalSpy have reported the following:

DS posted:
EastEnders actors Joe Swash and David Spinx have been axed from the BBC soap after being told their characters had "run out of steam".

Surely that description could apply to most of the EE characters? Perhaps Diederick Santer could also give some advice to ITV about Corrie's surplus of pointless characters.

Well he's doing a fine job at EastEnders. Not sure whether Kim Crowther will have the same magic touch.

Classic axing line - "a character has run out of steam".

Apart from the fact Keith never had any steam in the first place, disappears for months on end and either sits in front of the telly or on the bar when we do see him. Surprising to find out he could actually walk. Mind you the character reminds me so much of Frank Gallagher from Shameless, only with a little more intelligence and showing more interest in his family. Classic "separated at birth" skit if ever I saw one.

You mean Walford Towers? It's been there since the start; Pete, Kathy and Ian Beale lived there from the first episode for many years.

That's nothing new, happens everywhere in London at present. One day an empty view, the next day 10 new tower blocks Wink
