Crikey. Last night's episode, where they introduced Jane's brother, Christian, must have been one of the lowest points I can EVER recall on EE.

This character - so far (and I admit it's only been one episode) - is the worst and most despicable character I have ever seen on any tv soap.

Watch a few more and get back to us, he blends in rather well!

Reminder: solo episode tonight.

"Tonight's episode of EastEnders is as powerful and poignant a piece of drama as you will see on TV all year, and destined to be showered with prizes."
The Mirror

"It is worth seeing, even if you can't stand soaps." The Independent

"Very rarely can a soap claim to do something which is both innovative and unique, but devoting an entire episode to just one character is exactly that.
And the story of Dot's despair as she records a heartfelt message for her seriously ill husband Jim is yet another triumph for Enders - after winning such accolades as Most Popular Serial Drama at the National Television Awards last year and being the most watched TV programme on Christmas Day."
The Sunday Mirror

"The superb June Brown and the show deserve every plaudit going." Radio Times

Really looking forward to tonight's episode.

Whilst her performance is good, I can't help but think "Nice Cheap Telly" single character, single location, just one long monologue.

Nice touch there with the End credits, great actress, great episode.

This is the first episode of EastEnders I've watched in a few years. June Brown did a sterling job, a great performance, and a nice touch at the end with the credits running over a still scene of Dot's kitchen without the interruption of the announcer or an ECP menu.

Wonderful!!!!! It's what makes British tv great. Reminds me of a television age in the sixties and seventies when they were never afraid to experiment

Not really. This episode was recorded just before Christmas over 4 mornings whilst the rest of the cast were filming other episodes.
