According to BBC News this morning Sid Owen will also reprise his role as Ricky.

Whats the bet his agent was furiously on the phone to Elstree the minute the Patsy story broke?

Ricky Butcher has to be the most boring EE character ever.

The producers don't have a brain between them these days. I just don't understand their logic. The show should have ended back in 2003 imo.

The show is currently attrocious , but I do see there is a certain logic to repopulating the cast with actors who there at the show's peak.

Additionally, I've always found Sid Owen to be extremely attractive - the actor not the character, you understand.

I definately would.

But still pulling in the viewers, last night 10 million people watched - the show's highest overnight rating in 8 months.

It's only out of habit though.

ITV should seriously think about putting Monday's Corrie on now from 7.30-8.30pm occassionally just to screw up the BBC - who would face a backlash if they kept moving Panorama from 8.30pm to move EastEnders out of the way.

Well the same could be said for the top 3 soaps that its out of habit. I personally dont think anyone can or should try and compare EE, Corrie or Emmerdale as they all have different ways of doing things.

What a fantastic week it has been for EastEnders fans,I thought the wedding was fantastic adding to that the result at the nta awards. But the return of old characters (Including Sophie Lawrence and Charlie Brooks) for Franks funeral has topped all of the above fantastic work by all involved.

According to The Sun 11million viewers tuned in to watch Stacey Slater wed Bradley Branning on Thursday night.

you really possess some strange logic sometimes. it would be ITV who would be facing the backlash. Trying to spoil Eastenders' hour special with Emmerdale backfired on them - messing with Coronation Street would be catastrophic.

and an extra 3m viewers for a show in under a year is not 'out of habit'. credit where its due.

It's the first time EastEnders has won when head to head with Emmerdale for a very long time.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... Rolling Eyes Laughing

I have to agree it's good now - although unlike you, I actually criticised it when it was bad.

I did criticise it but only when i thought it was that dire i had to turn it off,If it was bad but watchable I'd try and point out the positives rather then the negatives.
