It is good to see that he actually will carry the torch on television rather than him just going to get the torch at the start of an episode and then coming back with a broken leg and an eye hanging out at the end as normally happens.
"As normally happens"? How often has the Olympic torch come up in the show?
Perhaps my exclusive is more humdrum than I expected.
I just meant what normally happens when characters do anything slightly interesting away from Albert Square.
Do those pictures show what will be shown on EastEnders?
As I remember reading this...
BBC Blog posted:
For the first time ever in the history of soaps the Olympic Torch Relay will pass through LIVE during an EastEnders episode on the Monday evening before the Olympic opening ceremony in July.
A statement on its website said: "This slot is closer to the original transmissions and will be more consistent as it will not need to be moved for sporting commitments."
This week's omnibus will be shown on 14 April from 0.05 - 02.00am.
The long-running Sunday afternoon slot would have clashed with this summer's Olympics and Euro 2012.
Producers played down the change and said many fans were now able to watch the soap in their own time.
Im surprised there have done this, Saying that BBC Scotland never had enough room for everything and this would free up enough slots to the station to take any BBC two Scotland shows.
Quote is here to help keep people linked to what Im on about
Not really surprising, it's never had a permanent time on Sunday afternoon anyway, since it was effectively butchered around other commitments, chopped in quarter/half and stripped across BBC One and BBC Two purely on a whim of whatever else it needed to be scheduled around. How anybody managed to follow it at all purely on the omnibus showing is a mystery.

Wasn't there an occasion when the 1st & 2nd episodes went out on BBC One, 3rd episode on BBC Two, 4th episode back on BBC One? If not that, surely something similar?

Most probably, and it wouldn't surprise me if the omnibus alternated between both channels on one day at some point either. The most common arrangement that took over (prior to full length dumping on BBC Two) was to split it either across both BBC One and BBC Two, or either side of some other event, typically football, if there wasn't room on BBC Two.

I always thought they should air it on Saturday morning at 8:30am and end Breakfast early. Then move Saturday Kitchen to 10:30 to accommodate 2 hours. In the occasion of a longer omnibus they could just eat into some of Breakfast (no pun intended).
I just watched Tuesdays episode on the BBc iplayer on TiVo in HD mode. When the episode started I thought the wrong video was being played as it looked 'filmic', then realised it was indeed EastEnders. Has a 'filmic' effect been added to this particular catch up stream or is it just caused by the way the video is displayed on the TiVo?
