Apparently it was filmed yesterday which implies that was the intention - maybe The Sun just found out and blabbed?

I have to admit I intentionally avoided the DS story about the ending as I didn't want it spoiling...

It was only revealed online. The paper itself only mentioned to stay tuned for a surprise appearance after the credits, in a small paragraph on the bottom left of the first page of the TV Biz pull-out. It didn't say who it was at all.

So was that Simon's only appearance or will he be appearing later on at some point?

Doesn't mean much I know but I guess this means that, purely in terms of the length of time between first and last appearances rather than screentime, Simon Wicks is now one of the longest serving characters in the show - must only be Ian and Dot to top him?

Not sure if it's been said on here, but the Olympic village is now on the titles top left by the 'E'
