Why have an omnibus doesnt everyone have digital or the internet for iplayer?

Just because "everybody" has digital or just "everybody" has the internet doesn't mean the first thing they'll do is go and watch EastEnders on BBC Three or the iPlayer.

Anyway there's still a chunk of the population who don't have digital. You can only say everybody has digital after 2012.

It has it's uses. I missed yesterdays Eastenders on both BBC1 and the BBC Three repeat and prefer not to watch TV online so I watched the end of the omnibus instead

It's to keep mothers and wives up and down the land occupied while they're doing their ironing on a Sunday afternoon, while the husbands are down the pub watching the footie.

Watching EastEnders on BBC Entertainment, for the first time in many months. As I mentioned a few pages back , the last time I caught up with it after an absence, I can see why this thread hardly sees the light of day! There's nothing to report of interest and EE is as boring as heck.

Hardly recognise any of the characters.

And what's the idea behind the new Ben? Nothing like the old Ben at all.

That is the idea behind new Ben.

I didn't mean visually, I meant characteristically. The new Ben is a thug and criminal, whereas the old one was an angel of Milky Bar proportions.

As did I.

Surprisingly they used the omnibus-length credits with the middle 8 of the theme for last night's edition, with more staff credits than previously, however I think the credits were slower and actually easier to read, so maybe not.

Just a surprising change to make considering they've always used the current short credits, even at incredibly fast speeds to fit all the credits in.

I don't get that either. Suddenly we're supposed to believe that he's completely changed into the exact opposite of the character we've seen for the past 5 years? Obviously all soaps do stuff like that, but I don't expect it from EastEnders. Might as well just write him out.

I'm not really enjoying EastEnders at the moment.

Me neither. I've stopped watching it, in fact. (although the Joy Joyner storyline has been well acted).

As for the Milky Bar Kid, I think we need to bring back Stella to calm him down a bit!!

I haven't watched it in months, and I was impressed by the acting from everyone on tonight's episode.
