I'm a bit confused . . . I haven't missed an episode but I seem to have missed something.

Who has Alfie bought the Queen Vic from? presumably Roxie still actually owns it? I know she 'signed it over' to Peggy but then who actually owns it to sell it to Alfie? We didn't see Alfie actually have a conversation with anyone saying he wanted to buy it.

Why is the Beale's house and Janine & Ryan's flats' house all behind boardings? There has been no reference to why this is necessary.

On the boardings on the Queen Vic there are fly-posters advertising Summer Dance Events for June? Is that just badly thought out?

I just feel we are being asked to make a big leap in our own heads with the story jumps? Am I wrong, or have I missed something?

Roxy signed over the deeds to the Vic to Peggy, and when Peggy left, she signed them over to Phil. Alfie bought the Vic, as a ruin, from Phil...

The Beales' house was slightly damaged in the fire, hence is under boarding, and Janine and Ryan's house is undergoing HD upgrade work, and shouldn't be seen on screen at the minute, hence the Albert Square webcam on the website is offline.

The Queen Vic hoardings could have been used on another property, and the boarding up company may have forgot to take them off, or failing that it is just bad planning on the EastEnders prop department.

what's going on with some of the sets in eastenders?

a caravan and cramped set with brown walls (edit: 'mercy's nan's house'??) look like they are from 1980s australian soap, they are awful and horribly lit, shadows all over the place. is this bbc cutbacks?

even mrs lobster noticed it!

Isn't Mercy's Nan's place the flat next door to the Vic? Where Sue & Ali used to live back in the day?

Yeah I don't think we've seen inside that block of flats for years, possibly at least 10? Pretty sure Bianca was in there at one point when Liam was born, and didn't Joe and Lorraine live upstairs?

The last characters I remember seeing living in the flats were Barry and Natalie in the bottom flat, which would have been around 10 years ago. I may be wrong, but I think the bottom flat may have been used as a squat at some point after.

Meanwhile, this page: http://talkwalford.co.uk/wiki/index.php/47_Albert_Square suggests Winston lives in one of the flats! Laughing

Just that part round the top (and a few minor parts down the edges). The lower part is mainly green and cream.

Bit more red at the bottom, but least it's a change from the previous two looks. Image on link:

It looks strangely less realistic now.

Difficult to believe they could get that famous London yellow brick to come up so well after being in an inferno. It would surely be pitted and stained, no?

Anyone would think it was fake.

*Ahem*
