Hi. I notice tonight that East midlands today has changed their set slightly. The desk has gone and the presenters sit on two 'easy' chairs with a coffee table. The sports presenter who joins later on a sofa. Before this change the presenters would move to the 'sofa' area halfway through the programme from the desk.

In my opnion it dosn't quite work but it could easily be another try at beating Central News (east) in the ratings which is presented on a horrid coloured blue and orange sofa (though the titles and backdrop are blue and red!!) Recent ploys by EMT to win views was the poaching of Central's Dominic Heale (goodness knows why) and the banishing of Kathy Rotchford to lunchtimes replaced by GMTV's Anne Davies. Though its better to watch presentational wise than may other option the sickly Stuart and Susie show aka Look East!

Hang on, when EMT first 'went generic' they had a seperate comfy seating area. So if the main area has now swapped desky type setup for comfy type setup, does that mean the seperate area is now redundant?

Also, how come Central News' Llewella Bailey got a big send off with a bunch of flowers by the Nottingham/East team now that she's returning to where she started (Birminghm/West)?

When she moved from West to East, Birmingham never gave her any kind of send off. At least I don't remember one.

Is there a big gap in viewers in the East Midlands. It seems as if the BBC are quite desperate to win over viewers quickly.

By the way, I like stuart and suzie!

I don't think Anne Davies is at all suited to news presenting. It's just 'not her'!
However, Domanic Heale is excellent in my opinion. Kathy Rochford is also far better than Lisa Dransfield.
