Looks like EE executive producer is out on her ear after just a few short weeks at the job. Here's the BBC press office release on it.

Yeah, there is a piece in the Media Guardian as well on the departure of KH and the arrival of John Yorke.

I am sure without a doubt, he will be the one to finally turn Eastenders around and get it back to where it should be - At the top!

Here is the link to the MG article

John Yorke, back to Eastenders

A surprise move - maybe they've realised that her plans of improving the show by bringing in more second rate gangsters wasn't the best!

EE is still awful - it's improved slightly but the storylines and plots are crap, to put it nicely.

Just wish they'd take the correct decision and finally axe the show!

And i wish you'd stop polluting every EastEnders related thread with that same ridiculous statement; but, heck, we can't have everything we want.

I'm shocked to hear of Kathleen Hutchinson's sudden departure.

Now that she's gone, is there a future for EastEnders? Or is this departure going to mark the beginning of the end? John Yorke and crew better think up something fast to get EE back to the top

I wish the same thing about many comments in the Big Brother thread - but as you say, we can't have everything!

The axing of the show IMO is the best way forward. You can axe the producers and the writers - but the last two years has done alot of damage to the credibility of the show.

As for the characters - you look at them and think which ones should be axed to save the show - and your left with about three characters!

You have to ask whether it's worth making numerous changes to the show when chances are it'll still be in the same position a couple of years down the line!

Generally axing the stations top show wouldn't be a wise move, but the BBC1 schedule is current quite terrible with only a few gems in the year.

Axing EE would release funding that should pave the way to launching a series of new (many pre-watershed!) dramas - something British television seriously needs!
